Hi
Can the mixamp handle two digital inputs simultaneously, or is it either or? Mixamp Optical = PC soundcard output DD5.1 Mixamp Coax = PS3 output DD5.1 |

Yes, our MixAmp [NOT] will be able to take two digital inputs simultaneously. - ASTRO Stanimal Last edited by ASTRO stanimal; 01-18-2010 at 04:54 PM. Reason: Misinformation |

Well I finally got my coax cable in the mail.
I connected my PC to the mixamp via coax. I connected my PS3 to the mixamp via optical. However it does not allow both inputs to work in the same time. When both are connected the way I listed above, the mixamp only plays audio from the PS3. When I disconnect the optical/toslink cable from the Mixamp (which is again, connected to the PS3) I can suddenly hear my PC audio. Both output dolby digital 5.1 So the mixamp CANT play both sources in the same time?... |

So you're wanting it to convert two DD sources at the same time? What's the point?

I apologize, that was my mistake as I misread the post. The optical port will always have priority over the coax port. If you use the MP3 input for your PC sound, that will work in conjunction with the optical port. - ASTRO Stanimal |

With the new mixamp you should be able to use the USB cables transport and set ventrillo to it which would give you ventrillo chat on the PS3. Try it out, if not try using an analog out on your PC to the mixamp(mp3 in) or 360 controller/PC/Mixamp combo. Setting up ventrillo appropriately of course.

Thanks for the replies!
The vent output trick worked I hear ventrilo directly through the mixamp! That helps! |

Sorry to thread jack...
Is there anyway to have two optical inputs? Like have an optical splitter, or could I have it like this: Computer - Headphones PS3 - Coax Xbox 360 - Optical I'm using one monitor, so they won't all be on at once, an more likely one at a time. I use the 360 for competitive gaming, the PS3 for media, and the computer for work/youtube etc. Is this doable? :] |
