Default Recording gameplay with live commentary - MixAmp 5.8 HOW?

I've seen a few threads on here but nothing really told me how to do it the way I'm set up.

Xbox 360 component to Hauppauge HD PVR component to TV.
Xbox 360 optical to MixAmp 5.8

How would I hook it up to record my voice along with my teams voice?

There has to be a way, there are many videos on YouTube with 4 player teams playing COD Zombies with live commentary.

I understand I may need to record my voice audio separate from game video, and then add it into my video as an audio file at the correct time so it seems to be all together.

Okay, this may seem kinda hood but what if I unplugged the mic boom from the headset and then plugged in a splitter one end would be my mic boom and the other end to my Mac's mic port and then record with GarageBand and marry the audio and video together at the correct time.

I would obviously have to zip tie my mic boom to my headset so I could talk into it, lol.

    Anyone think that may work?

You can also use the PC cable and use a splitter on the mic side.

On the 3.5mm side or the 2.5mm controller side?

Hrm, don't know of a way to do live commentary + team voices with the wireless MixAmp 5.8 (there's much less inputs/outputs over the wired MixAmp). If it were the Wired MixAmp it makes it a whole lot easier, as you can use the 3.5mm jack PC-Mic out to your computer. As for team voices, you would have to use the "Play through Both" option.
