Hey everyone,

ASTRO stanimal here, just want to stop in and give everyone an update on what's going on with our A50s and some of the issues that you may have noticed.

First, we want to thank you all of you for being loyal and awesome customers. You guys rock.

We're actively tracking every issue that's submitted to our support team and posted on our forums to provide you with solutions quickly. As much as we wish every product launch will go perfectly, we'll slave and stay up all night to make sure you have your gear working 100%.

If you’re experiencing any issues, we have an early version our v1 firmware here.

Please note that this is not a final release of our firmware tool. Some of you will have that already installed and for you, we will have a v1.1 firmware update sometime mid-August.

If you have any issues that persist after the firmware update, please continue working with our support team. To keep up to date on firmware updates, please stay tuned to this thread, our Facebook and Twitter.

Lastly, if there is anything we can do differently or clarify, please let us know and we'll do our best to make it happen.

I was told by the support team that I would need to send in my A50 because the optical digital light doesn't always come on when I plug it in which means my headset gets no sound from my PS3 or Xbox 360. Is this true or do you think the firmware update will fix this in the future? I would hate to have to send my headset back.

Totally understand where you're coming from. Firmware stuff is very tricky and we want to test everything thoroughly before we release it so it doesn't cause new issues.

What does this new firmware version fix? (or attempt to fix?)
There was no changelog or anything. I'd like to know to see if it helped.

If i buy a new one right now will there be problems with it? Or have they fix the problem with the ones they have in stock but not the ones released.

I wouldn't do it. They will ship with whatever Firmware is complete right now, and properly working units would not likely be for sale until the new firmware is done. My guess is there is a stop ship on A50's right now anyway.

Another question sis this Firmware the same one that Zach had me update to last night, or is this updated further?

So far the early release firmware (v1 or whatever) is ineffective.

If we have to wait until mid-August for the next firmware release, what happens to our return period? Does it get extended at all?
