It sounds like you set the optical cable output as your default communication device.

The astro mixamp appears separately in your sound control panel.
"Astro Mixamp Pro" should be your default...

I tried what the OP said aswell and got the same issue, kind of unfortunate.

In the meantime I wear my old headset around my neck and use the mic from that. Not ideal but hey, at least im not...

There is no patch for the Mixamp yet, so its not there is no noise gate fix, there's no update at all. This is for the a50 as the title states.
