The update happened, and they actually cleaned up all the bots back in May. We were good up until about a month ago. The forums were booming; that's when the Bot Nation struck.

Just a quick question, first off I love the EQ's I use all of them but just asking out all of the EQ's what's your best recommendation for a game like Destiny 2 it's competitive/cinematic and I've been switching back and forth between the EQ's to find the best fit

    Competitive D2 I like Tournament 2
And to Relax and enjoy the games sound I prefer Arcturus.

Currently running Tournament II (Dolby ON) and Dystrilation (OFF) on a pair of AKG 702's. Really great stuff. I've tried each one and each correctly highlights the sounds they were made to focus. As far as credibility goes, I'm totally convinced that you know your stuff.

Also a note for Overwatch on PS4. The game does output in 7.1 when using Bitstream (Dolby). A good way to test this is in the Practice Range. There's a section of the map where two ally bots stand while taking shots from two enemy bots. Stand in between the two ally bots and wait for the left bot to be destroyed. Notice that when listening in Bitstream (Dolby), it's quite easy to hear the left enemy bot's shots hit the wall to your back left. Switch to Linear PCM and compare the difference.

Dolby does in fact make flanker's footsteps louder in Overwatch PS4.

So PUBG on Xbox with the Astro A50. The game isn't in dolby. What Preset is best for footsteps and hearing where you're being shot from? I've used tournament 2 with dolby off and that sounds pretty good but was wondering if there is a better option. Apparantley torunament 2 is designed for dolby on.

My opinion would be to go with Dystrilation, for stereo sound gameplay

    NEED HELP:
I’ve spent countless hours trying to tweak things and I can’t get it right.

With the tournament v2, i LOVE how wide the soundstage is, and how i can cleanly hear details. BUT somewhere in the higher end it is painfully sharp. To the point where I can’t even use this EQ. :(
Many of the popular EQ’s like Beastmode (and it’s variations) are way too bass-heavy for my liking, as it just drowns out all the details.

I’ve tried changing the dB values, messing with the cF’s, and changing the bandwidths. I just can’t figure it out.

SO: With the tournament v2 (or just in general) How do I eliminate the painfully sharp higher parts, while still maintaining the wide soundstage and details?

For reference, I’m using audio technica ATH-ADG1X on xbox one.

Drop high dB (far right) down 2 points, and lower each cF by .1

This should help tame the pitch stabbing. Make sure to save to device when done.

Hey guys, is there any ATH-AD700X user here who feels like this pair of headphones sounds distant and unclear with Dolby Digital ON?

Don't get me wrong, I love how Arcturus sounds in stereo mode but I can't get any EQ to sound clearly with Dolby Digital ON.

This has been explained countless times already. Dolby Surround sacrifices sound quality for precise positional direction. As I recommend to all my users, stay in stereo unless you absolutely need precise positional audio (i.e. gaming tournaments, etc). This will forever be an issue with virtual surround sound vs true surround sound.

To be honest, even with DOLBY ON I can't hear precise positional direction in comparison to stereo mode. That's why I can't figure out the benefits of virtual surround sound. I tried to play COD MW2 (PS3) a while ago with dolby on but I couldn't detect the direction of footsteps. I read everywhere that the AD700x are famous for their open soundstage and clarity but I'm yet to experience their full potential...

Unfortunatley, you wont unless you have a dedicated DAC/AMP. Unfortunately, the MixAmp Pro doesn't have the output to push the entire driver of those AD700x's. The MixAmp is very weak when it comes to driving studio reference headphones with larger drivers.

Damn it...that's pretty sad to hear. The reason why I bought a Mixamp was because, after reading a famous gaming headphones guide, I was convinced that it was the perfect pair for the AD700X. The author of the guide claimed that his pair of AD700 (not 700X) had an incredible virtual surround sound paired with the Mixamp (2013 edition I guess or the one after that, not the TR PRO though). I thought it would be pretty much the same with the Mixamp Pro Tr and the AD700X but apparently it's not. I may as well sell it then...

I have the akg 702 and ath-ad700x, I like the akg more but the ad700x are good headphones too.
The weirdest thing is to read that the mixamp pro tr does not move the ad700x, if it can the akg that are more difficult to move.
With the 2013 mixamp need more power (i used a amp) because the sound was low and they had a background noise.

I take this opportunity to ask, what profile do you refer to "tournament v2" I or II ?, I would like to try this eq for fortnite, but the loud sounds like shotgun sounds, snipers, explosions with those profiles sound too loud, something that the omnivox does not does.

What do you think I can edit of these eq ?, Because at the moment I love Omnivox, but I will like to try the others eq.

For v2 Zalia said to lower the last DBs by 2 and all the CFs by .1
To help with the loud sound
