Mine sounds very different between 'all audio' and 'chat audio' initially i preferred all audio as it sounds a little more natural to me at least, once i got used to the slightly metallic sound of the 'chat audio' I really liked it, which I assumed was the marmite Virtual surround sound.

I thought 'all audio' channeled stereo through and 'chat audio' 5.1 VSS?

I've tried it on both, initially preferred 'all audio' got used to 'chat audio' and now prefer that. Our ears are all different, I just feel I can hear subtle things I couldn't before. I hear people picking up ammo, adding attachments, reloading and changing weapons from some decent distances now that I couldn't before.

I'm going to keep flicking between the two as there both effective and I've given 'chat audio' more play time than 'all audio'. All audio is definitely louder I just thought it was stereo from recent posts I've read and wanted to get used to vss.

I mean, that’s obvious. I was asking about the technical aspects between the two.

Tested 5.15 over the weekend. It’s quite good. It cleared up a few issues that I have been experiencing with bfv.

I’ll compare 5.1 this coming weekend.

Do you use 5.15 extreme or just the normal version?
  5. Chrichmeister

Normal version as I haven’t got the mod kit fitted at the moment.

Not sure on best in game presets however I’ve stuck with supercrunch and other soundehore settings which seem to work well!

High boost is best cause it only makes the high frequencies higher (footsteps etc) instead of making everything louder like with supercrunch.

I’ll give it a whirl, sounds good!

So if I'm using the A50 should I edit the EQ's based on the pictures or just download the A40 presets and load them in Astro Command Center?

Yep high boost works best for sure, tried it out tonight with the 5.15 Astro FPS (video version) and it’s the best preset for my ears with blackout. Directional and distance audio is perfect and gives a huge advantage.

I can’t even use awareness it becomes too OP and I feel I can hear people from too far that it messes with me.

Really good EQ thanks @Daredevil792 much appreciated!

There are download links for a40 and a50... and the pictures are for a40 and a50 aswell. When it says mod behind the actual name, then it is for a50 and if its not having mod behind the actual name it is for a40. All pictures only for 5.10.

For 5.15 you have to watch the videos for a40 or a50.

The A50 links are only pics, not .astroeq files

Oh ok yea... you just have to tweak it yourself then just like oj the picture. Start on the right side with the highest frequency and move to the left. That way you will not have any trouble setting a higher Hz range.

in the xbox audio output there is a setting for dolby atmos head phones, in the app store it lets you try dolby atmos setting for free 30 day trial is that something worth trying with these settings or use the normal astro head set settings for the xbox with this EQ setting

Update on the Re-Edit on the 1st page i have a plan set out for the layout and i have missed one vital part in the way that the presets have been set out.
After a knowledge search because i need it to sort out these frequencies.
Astro A40 is Open back that much is true
Mod kits make them Closed back.

Astro A50 by default is Semi-Closed
With Mod kits its Fully Closed

Soo Astro A40 and A50 with a Mod kit are the same presets.
Which will be re-arranged in the Re-edit of the thread.

But a50 is more quiet than a40 by default. My mate has a50’s and with the same preset i use for my a40’s ( both no mod kit ) his audio is way more quiet. thats why i told him your other preset for a50 ( cant remember exactly which ) with more dB on 4th bar i believe (i believe its the mod kit a50 one) even tho he does not have the mod kit and he said that it is way better for him....

    ...anyways.... just re-edit it ;)

@Daredevil792 i was curious if you had changed anything on the presets and i redownloaded a40 fps ex on 5.1 and 5.15 and compared them with my 5.1 and 5.15 presets i had from you before.

    Interesting.....

    On the 5.1 fps ex i had 129Hz 625Hz 4200Hz 7790Hz 10000Hz with 1dB 1dB 7dB -3dB 5dB....

On the new downloaded a40 fps ex i have the same Hz ranges but on the 2nd bar i now have 3dB instead of 1dB.... why did you increase it from 1dB to 3dB ?

Im gonna test that new one on sunday and see if its better or worse for me or if i can hear any difference at all.....

The other thing i always wanted to know is..... when i compare the a40 fps ex 5.1 with the a40 fps ex 5.15 there is a whole different Hz setup....

    On 5.1 (129Hz 625Hz 4200Hz 7790Hz 10000Hz) to 5.15 (100Hz 620Hz 1150Hz 3948Hz 6732Hz)

Why did you change it so drastically?

I tried the 5.15 fps ex before (but with 1dB on 620Hz compared to your new one with 3dB) but these frequences are way worse than the 5.1 ranges....

I just want to understand more. :)
