Got my new A50 Gen3's for ps4 today as soon as they came out, they sound unreal.

The have a slider button for 3 EQ presets (ASTRO, Pro, and Studio) according to the Astro website, can anyone tell me the differences, they do sound different but i want to know what each is mainly designed for...

    Thanks

Astro = Astro Surround Setting, Pro = higher volume for footsteps etc. like the turtlebeach superhuman hearing, Studio = optimized for music/movies

    Hey Jaz,

ASTRO is tuned for precise bass, balanced mids and highs to give you the best gaming audio experience we believe is possible. Studio is designed for music and movies; it's similar to a flat EQ which provides a neutral field. Pro is ideal for gamers who want better mids and highs to hear the enemies easier and lower bass for better surround sound.

So far eq 3 seems to be the best and 1 also very good, eq 2 in the middle which I believe is pro sounds very flat and lacking like a cheap set of headphones.

    Hey Jaz,

Under the ASTRO Command Center, we do have two more (A50 Mod Kit and Media) which can be added to EQ 1, 2, or 3. Try them out :)

So what variation to the audio can we expect from the additional EQ profiles Mitch? I expect to have my headset today or tomorrow (delayed shipping), but I have my mod kit all ready to go.

Personally, I was a big fan of the BF pro EQ profile.

Hi ,hows you range from the base station?
I have had mine all day and coming from gen 2's ,however the range is substantially less than the gen 3's.
I am really hoping its a problem just with my set .

I've come from Gen 1's with the mix amp and the range is a little smaller but I can still go from my lounge room to take a leak with them on about 10-12 metres away and through a wall or 2 and still get audio but it stutters and cuts a bit

    Hey matthewk85,

They all have their own unique setup.

A50 Mod Kit is balanced to provide the best audio for the Mod Kit due to it being fully closed which can change how the audio sounds.

Media is designed to give you what we believe is the best all-around audio experience for your media.

ASTRO is designed to give you what we believe is the best audio experience for your gaming. It will give you precise bass with balanced mids and highs. Ideal for single player and most gaming experiences.

Studio is also designed for music and media but has increased highs. Better for music in my opinion because of the increased highs.

Pro is ideal for hardcore gamers who want to hear the precise details and balances the bass better to provide better spatial surround sound for you to locate enemies easier.

Awesome, thanks for the info Mitch, will have to give them ago, mine will be delivered today and will be putting the mod kit back on.

Just curiously, are these just initial EQ profiles? Do you expect more to be released over time?

    Hey matthewk85,

These are the initial five included with the ASTRO Command Center with ASTRO, Pro, and Studio being pre-installed on your headset. We may release more in the future or even update the originals but no info at the moment. You can also install many from our forums which members of the community have created.

    Hey moz,

Are you in the same room with a direct line of sight or trying to go through a wall?

    Hey Mitch,

is there any way to request an EQ profile? I used the BF1 firmware on my old gen 1 A50 headset and loved the BF1 pro EQ profile it had!

    Hey matthewk85,

I can ask but it's not as easy to port over an EQ preset from our GEN1 products because they don't store the EQ presets or allow adjustment as easy as the ASTRO Command Center. Also because the A50 Wireless and Base Station is fully digital, it may not sound the same.

No worries, can't hurt to ask. =D
What about the custom EQ settings from the "MixAmp Pro TR Custom EQ Presets" thread; would I expect the same results as a set of A40's, or will the EQ profiles sound different on a set of A50's?

    Hi,

I have a question. I've recieved my Headset yesterday and I tested also the Astro PC Software.

But I'm a bit confused. Whend I connect the Headset with my PC the preset Profiles are:

    1. ASTRO
    2. Pro
    3. Studio

In the softwarw itself I can find these Profiles too. If I activate Profile 1, which seems to be the ASTRO Profile and then I click on the ASTRO Profile on the left side of the Software there are differences in the settings. But if I choose the preset Profile 1 and then the same Profile in the software, the settings must be the same, dosen't it?

It seems to be that the preset Profile 1, which is default loaded on the Headset and named ASTRO, is the STUDIO Profile. Because when I activate Profile 1 on the Headset and I choos "STUDIO" on the Software, there are no differences.

If I choos Profile 3, which has to be the Studio Profile (it's also named STUDIO), I have the same settings when I choose the ASTRO Profile in the software.

I think, that on the Headset are the wrong settings loaded and named. The ASTRO Setting on Profile 1 is the STUDIO Setting and the STUDIO Setting on profile 3 is the ASTRO Setting.

Can someone post sceenshots of the software, which shows the default loaded settings of the 3 Profiles? I'm now a little bit confused, which profile the true ASTRO profile is.

I hope that i descriped it good enough to understand. I'm from Germany and my english ist not the best ;-)

    Thank you guys.

    @mitch, any comment?
