how does one tell what EQ setting is being utilized? A visual representation would have been great. I have no idea which setting is on, aside from what the sounds... well, sound like. is there something im missing or are the ears the sole way of knowing? this is being used on a PC, btw.

    Hi andro21,

If you have updated your MixAmp Pro 2013 Edition to the latest firmware update, then the EQ modes will be different from what Socks has mentioned. I will post them below.

    Top Left
Pro - ASTRO’s pro gaming mode, created with our pro teams and players to provide the best sound profile for competitive gaming, accentuating details like footsteps and respawns in an immersive surround sound experience.

    Top Right
Core – Hear your games just as the developer’s intended with no extra processing or balancing.

    Bottom Right
Media – Best for watching movies or listening to music, accentuating vocals and bass.

    Bottom Left
LAN - Same as EQ 1 (Pro) although the microphone has been adjusted to work better in louder environments such as eSports and LAN Tournaments.

thanks for the responses. i never noticed the lights switching around the EQ button itself. thats the visual aid i wanted to have. good to know what each setting does, also.
as far as PC gaming goes, im very confused about what the lower dial does, or at least what it SAYS it does. when i turn the dial to Game, everything gets louder-- the game, the voice app i use (ventrilo), all the sounds, everything-- and when i turn the dial to Voice, i hear less of everything, including my voice app, where at max Voice everything is muted. the volume dial does what it should (although at the lowest volumes the surround seems to fail and only a few speakers seem to work). im very confused with this. i have everything setup properly and the 7.1 seems to work fine, but the settings on the mixamp just dont make sense to me. even the 4 EQ settings dont seem to make much of a difference...

    Mitchell,
Did I see someplace on the forums that Astro were going to enable new programmable preset settings via software that users can download (so we can make or own, or at least mess around with the defualt ones)?
Is this ever going to happen?

    Hi notmyname,

You are correct. Our team is still working on a EQ customizer for the ASTRO Device Manager which will be compatible with the A50 Wireless Headset and MixAmp Pro 2013 Edition. Once we have more information to share on this, we will make a post on the forums and the blog to let everyone know.

You could always use the turtle beach xp seven amp with your astros. It works really nice but you can tell the difference in sound coming from the astro mix amp and xp seven amp. Not that big but you have 8 sound and 8 chat presets on the xp seven amp witch is really nice but the xp seven headset itself wont last long. Mine just took a **** so I bought the a40s and I was like hmm I wonder. Hooked up my a40s with the turtle beach mix amp and it was like I had my xp sevens working again. Its also very fun to use the deep voice changer on the xp seven amp for multiplayer.

[Remove MixAmp from XP Seven as it's not a MixAmp, the MixAmp is exclusive to ASTRO] - ASTRO Vertigo

    Hi Jugo5883,

We built the MixAmp Pro 2013 Edition with EQ customizing support although we have not promised a date or promoted this feature as of yet as we want to offer as much as possible on the software side of things if possible. Regarding your other issues, have you been in contact with our support team to resolve them?

Mitchell. Has there been an update to this at all? I just purchased the Gen 1 mix amp pro to help with the mic monitor and to have 7.1 but I want it on the top right core but with the Lan mic feedback higher. I would love to customize the presets. It's been over a year. Any updates

    Hi demo,

Our microphone monitoring is the same regardless of preset active.

I will check in and see what I can find out for you.
