I really enjoy my a50s I’ve owned them for some time now and gotten used to having them around. The wireless range is great as is the battery life and sound quality. However, I would humbly like to suggest the a60, A new and improved headset over the a50.

All that you need to do is make an a40, with no cord and the wireless features of the a50. No other features or design ideas from the a50 should be used in this new headset.

My biggest complaint about the a50 is the massive crossfade button on the right ear cup. I constantly hit this button while laying back and watching TV. This is a feature that I have never used on my a50s, and it has only ever annoyed me. It is clear that it is intended on providing the same function from the old mix amp. However the crossfade on the old mixamp took effort to adjust, and couldn’t accidently be hit unless you put the mixamp in on odd location or lacked control of your body. Whoever designed this button clearly did not actually wear these headphones for an extended period of time, in a “serious” gamer situation. IE they never sat on their ass watching TV.

My second biggest complaint is that I cannot remove the microphone. Because I cannot lean on my right side(because it can crossfade the volume to nothing), I have to lean on my left side. This means I am constantly squishing my microphone while watching TV. So I have had to adapt a sort of slight leaning center head balanced pillow situation while kicking back in my recliner, this is actually uncomfortable, so now my a50s, a headphone I should brag about is associate with uncomfortable sitting and annoying buttons.

And then I’m only mildly annoyed that my ear tags for my a40 can’t be put on my a50(this is because of the button and the non-remove able mic right? Those were good features, they annoy your users and remove the ability to have the one thing that made your headphones special, custom ear tags. I mean lets face plenty of brands offer good quality, sturdy designs, and a “gamer” style or appearance. But the ability to decide on the art which goes on the headphone is a really unique and great idea)

In addition, I would like to suggest removing the “preset sound button” and changing it to a receiver channel button. So that I can buy multiple transmitters for different devices(such as one for my computer and one for my TV ) and use one set of headphones to move through my house.

I have bought both the a40 and the a50, if these “a60” headphones were to be released tomorrow I would buy them today.

i have purchased astro A50's a few weeks back. i absolutly LOVED them, untill i realized how bad the mic is. the bad quality of the mic resulted in me having to run by a friends house and fetch my old one, which sucked on both our ends.

now as i know, the mic itself is pretty good! but it is the audio gate or bridge thing(whatever) that is messing everything up.
i looked around, allot. the main voice i hear is: fix the A50's, mic issues.

when there is a huge group of people sitting around with these expensive works of magic, as they are sweet as hell( as they are amazing yet piss me of for not working proper) why not bring out tiny updates that fix problems one by one, instead of getting all the problems together. fix them. release ONE HUGE update that SHOULD fix all problems. then keeping in mind something might have gone wrong in that process meaning you are doomed to repeat the tedious and slow process again.

i think allot of people would be in favor for small updates with a few big one's along there but the big should be implementations of new features, IE equalizer setting control.
