Who has tried some of the latest headgear this year? Any E3 attendees try the Wareheads? Very little has been said about the Tritton (Mad Catz) Warhead shown at E3, but for a price like that, they are either finally placing a quality product in the ring with the Px5 and A40's or making their current $100 cans wireless and inflating the price enough to where gamers think they have and waste $300 to learn that it was hoax to net a quick $200 per for Mad Catz. Frankly, Turtle Beach has more to worry about because its their shelf space that will be shared with Mad Catz at Best Buy and Gamestop and neither has the Cult, Apple-like following that Astro has earned.

Everyone hates on Tritton, but the AX 720s are pretty good for the price. I'm eager to see how the Warheads stack up to my A40s.

It all depends on what you consider is Apple's mainstay. Now they've expanded from just computers to MP3 players (iPods) to cell phones and tablets. If you look at the stats with just what Apple stayed with for 20 years, it was just computers, and they still don't have the market share.

This is from a graph of all internet usage. With OSX, it's barely 5%, with iOS, it's barely reaching 6% total of all internet usage. From that standpoint, Apple's still "small" so to speak when you look at the larger industry.

ipod/ipad/iphones are fine but i think their laptops and desktops are seriously overpriced which is why they have such a small market share and i think they blow

I'm sorry but I own an iMac, and yes they are freakin' expensive. Apple does make great products though, my iMac let's me surf the net worry free, let's me play games, and check my email. I don't understand why certain people hate on apple products when realistically they are probably some of the greatest products out in the market as of today.

Because of the price, hype, and fanboy following. Same reason why there are plenty of people who have stigmas against ASTRO owners.

Let's forget about the Px5's. I had them and the youtube rants are correct, they cut out for no reason which is acceptable once in a while, but it happened so often, between 3 to 7 minutes apart, that I began to brace for it and expect it which is unacceptable . . . . 2.4GHZ really?!! In 2011??

The only headset I have been tempted by is the Beyerdynamic mmx300 which are borderline reference monitors with a mic, but $350 for headsets alone is steep for only headsets. The fBeyerdynamic Amp is $1300! @%$% that! But akaTRENT did a youtube review using them with the Astro Mixamp and while he said the sound reproduction was jawdropping, he also said that they sounded almost too good. He could actually hear the imperfections in the compressed audio of the game. They have been the only headsets he has ranked ahead of the A40's and his reviews are solid. Don't like the Non-removable mic though or that the cups are shallow enough to where your ears press against the drivers. Opinions?

You will find the number one reason people hates apple or even astro is cause they cant afford there product, is there computer expensive ? hell yea so is the Bugatti Veyron Super Sports which only cost $2,400,000 , could i find a faster car cheaper yea but its all about the brand and how it looks

I could easily afford a Mac but don't like their products because of the $500 "Apple Tax". Jus' sayin'

If you were to take a price scanner and look up Apple's profit margin on a Macbook you would have many sads.

i too can afford a mac but just choose not to cause they dont do anything better for double the price. there will be many more viruses for macs once the market share increases. if you really want a good safe computer for checking email get a PC then put linux on it.

a top-of-the-line mac is necessary for many businesses such as my own (video editing), its power and reliability are included for, albeit, a much higher cost, but it is worth it in my personal opinion. The same goes for Astro, quality products result in a higher price and even more dedicated fans (i.e the infamous 'apple wh*res')

You can get a 17 inch Dell XPS with a quad core i7 processor, 3GB graphics cards, and 1080p display all for significantly less than the equivalent MacBook Pro. Also, the MacBook only has a 1GB graphics card. :/

Seems like the Dell would be better for those applications.

i was gonna say the same thing luna but not dell specific. not sure why everyone thinks mac = editing. cant think of a single thing mac can do that PC cant but i can think of a butt load pc can do that mac cant. also the reliability thing is bs also. an imac breaks guess what your out a computer for a month. if my pc breaks i replace whatever broke and im out a PC for a day or 2. also i havnt had any virus' or spyware in about 7 years on my PC so security isnt a factor either if your not a pron lover. also i can pretty much guarantee the components in my PC are of higher quality then that of your mac.

i like alienware but they are ridiculously overpriced... deff out of my price range

idk about the color feature. it looks cool and everything, but seems like it would get annoying playing at night.

Have you tried the newest version? Also, it's possible to run Mac OS on a PC (I'm doing it right now).

I think I would have gone with the i7 over dual graphics cards. Also, Alienware is made by Dell. You can get an XPS with the same specs for a cheaper price :/

My keyboard is backlit and it's a really nice feature to have at night, but I think anything other than soft white would be distracting.

i can't even begin to explain what fc can do over premier, i'll just say that the entire harry potter series was edited with this program... even though the first could have been edited on wmm

funny cause my MacPro has windows 7 installed so what can a pc do that my MacPro cannot? a month lolz maybe a day if they have to order the parts and thats rare. your insane if you think your pc build has higher quality that what apple ships.

for the video editing post FCP has been the preferred choice for years.

im sure astro doesn't want you promoting illagal activities on their forums, i bet its fun hoping with every new update if it will break your system;)

alienware was bought by dell but still operates as its own company ;)

i should have worded that a bit differently. i hope you paid for a retail copy of OS X or my first statement would be true ;)

I don't think you built it properly then. I cringe every time I have to use the Mac lab at my University: can't stand the OS or the Apple mouse. Don't have anything against the hardware other than the pricing.

Going to leave this pointless and endless argument to the dedicated OSX vs Windows vs Linux forums where it belongs. Really no need for continuation of this subject here. If truly desired, a thread can be created in the appropriate Soap Box (Off-Topic) (http://forums.astrogaming.com/forumdisplay.php?17-The-Soap-Box-(Off-topic)) section.
