I know that what I'm about to ask doesn't involve the Astro A40 headset, but it's because I already have both the headset and mixamp, but I'm looking into getting the Steelseries Siberia Neckband headset and I wanted to know if anyone knew if that headset is compatible with the Astro Mixamp.

'ello asakura.

According to this forum (http://www.decerto.net/forums/showpost.php?p=63540&postcount=2), someone there bought the Steelseries Siberia Neckband and had it working correctly.

I just got my ASTRO MixAmp on Tuesday!! Any 3.5mm jack headphones work with it, they give some adapter thing. I've tried my SteelSeries Siberia and yeah they work and the MixAmp gives stimulated surround sound, not full surround sound. Full surround sound is 4 speakers in each ear cup and stimulated surround sound is 1. Stimulated surround sound is newer technology and better (:

You will probably need to buy the Y-Adaptor (http://www.astrogaming.com/products/detail/71/Y-Adaptor/) from Astro, as it's no longer included in the MixAmp purchase.

Actually, it appears that the Y-Adaptor has two 3.5mm ports, one for the headphones, one for the mic. The mic one would need to be a 2.5mm jack, since that's what the mic wire from the Steelseries is... Not sure how the other person got this working, unless the Steelseries headset does use a 3.5mm mic.

Ok, the the standard 4 pole adaptor (a 6 foot version of this shipped with your A40 Audio System, it's the same cord you use for the A40 headphones), has a 3.5mm connection for the headphones, then the 2.5mm jack for the mic. The only problem is fitting both of those into the same wire. Not sure if it'll fit or not, but you can try.
