If I connect my computer style headset (headset and mic) to the mixamp plugging in the mic in the PC mic slot, will I be able to use that mic over XBOX live with the voice features the mixamp offers such as audio/voice balance? Thanks in advance for any help.

You should. A lot of people do that already. Use PC headphones then a seperate mic.

You just need a mike with the green audio cable and the pink communication cable, and the MixAmp comes with everything you need to hook it up, and play on XBOX Live.

I've used my AD700 with the mixamp, there shouldn't be any problems. Triggers Down has used Sennheiser PC 350s at this past MLG event, they will work trust me.
