I'm wondering what kind of cable I need to digitally connect my new A40 system to my laptop.
My laptop has an S/PDIF jack, but I can't seem to find what would connect that to the Mixamp. I thought maybe a coaxial audio cable, but that doesn't fit in the laptop. I'm attaching a pic of my laptop's ports, mebbe someone can assist.
**update
I think what I need is just a coax miniplug adapter, it seems like the jack on my laptop is a mini... sorta....thing....
***Another update
Perhaps this is what I need?

Hi!
That adapter should work to digitally connect your laptop to the MixAmp. To get the full and solid experience from the MixAmp, make sure your soundcard has Dolby Surround built-in and that it's outputting to 5.1.
Hope this helps!

Ok, so if I had a USB soundcard with Dolby 5.1, (such as.... this!! - http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/audio-advantage-srm/home.aspx), I'd plug that in my computer, then plug the Mixamp into it, right?
So if I just plugged the mixamp into my laptop, I'd just get stereo, correct? (as it just has terrible onbaord sound)

Depending on the onboard sound, it may or may not support Dolby Surround. Otherwise, you'd just get the stereo output.
As for the TB USB soundcard, looks like it does output to Dolby Digital and that should work just fine with the MixAmp.
Hope this helps,

What does the card do? Are you just using your Turtle Beach headset with the mixamp?

I don't have a turtle beach headset, just the USB soudcard, plus I have the whole A40 system, headst and mixamp.

Without having an Optical Output, Im not sure the video card will do much.
Reason I say this is because the MixAmp makes the audio into Dolby Digital.
In terms of a PC, its an external Sound Card. Only if the Sound Card has an Optical Output, will it add quality to the audio (compared to the regular audio jack on a PC)
Without seeing the specifics, this is all speculation, just so you know.

My laptop's onboard sound isn't 5.1, so I'm using the Turtle Beach soundcard for that.
Reason I say this is because the MixAmp makes the audio into Dolby Digital.
It only decodes Dolby Digital, so I need that soundcard to output it.

Yeah, for real, you can't get much better than Digital Optical.
