I don't know if this is true but I heard that the mixamp re design was due to people intending to buy sennheiser pc 350s or some other type of pc headphone. So supposedly they can't use those headphones anymore. I just bought a mixamp because I have used the Astro headphones with the mixamp and sennheiser headphones with the mixamp and it was an experience. I preferred the sennheiser hd 555 over the Astro however. I'm not a big tech person so bare with me.

Here's what I thought though, instead of changing the mixamp why dont you just improve the headphones instead. It makes more sense to me because I don't think Astro has much competition in the mixamp business but they do in headphones, so make a better headphone. I know of a couple of people who intended on buying a mixamp but may not even do this because of the mixamp change.

Is the mixamp change fact or a lie?

Hi supp0rts,

The MixAmp update simply has a new look and USB functionality for PS3 support. There have been no changes to the MixAmp to prevent it from working with other headsets. This would require a drastic change to the cabling on our A40 Headset and no such thing has happened.

What you may be referring to is the fact that the Y-Adaptor (http://www.astrogaming.com/products/detail/71/Y-Adaptor/) which is required to use a PC headset is now available for purchase separately. We hope to have the Y-Adaptors back in stock within the next few business days.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Cheers,
