Hi everyone!
I've been watching these forums for quite some time, and am looking to buy a pair of astro a30s as my first headset. I had a question that maybe one of you could answer. Does Anyone THINK that there may be a new edition of the A30s in the near future, as in in the next 6 months? I don't wanna buy them say, tomorrow and have them be immediatly obsolete. If anyyone could help, that would be great!
Thanks!

I doubt it, but on the odd chance they did upgrade them, they would release a upgrade kit which you would be able to buy that would improve you old headset to the quality of the new one. This has been done with the A40 system already, so even those with older headsets need only play $30 or so and buy the parts to upgrade to the latest headset.

Thanks man, this was really reassuring. I hadn't thought about the fact that astro is a GOOD company and doesn't screw over its customers. Thank you, will be buying A30s shortly.

I suggest though sending a pm to Astro Warblade or Astro Stanimal just to double check. They are actually staff and would have a better idea then me as to if a new headset is coming soon. But from what i have seen there isn't. Worth double checking though :) Let me know if you ever want some custom tags! :P

They don't ever release any information on new product releases until the day that they come out so there is no way to tell. Astro Stanimal will know seeing how he is the companies marketing manager but will never disclose any details until release day.

I can tell you this, if you sit there waiting for new technology, you always be left waiting. As soon as you buy something, 1, 2, 3 months later something better is released.

Not but it was more like, not a date, but a hint at whether there may be one in the next month.

They don't even give us hints either. You won't know until a new product is launched on that particular day.

I realize that astro cannot simply give out dates, let alone a time frame. You make a good point about waiting around for new technology. I think I'm just gonna go for them. Thanks for everyone's input!

Like others have said, new products release when they release, and there's no development calendar that we release to the public, sorry. Gotta keep some things secret, ya know?

With a company like Apple, they deal with a multitude of vendors and are a company that produces atleast 100 times more volume than us and have websites dedicated to their products, so things like product leaks, new patents, and even unreleased iPhones left in a local bar tend to get a lot more attention.

Just be assured that as you buy our products that we hold a great standard to what we release. What you purchase now should still hold up well against what may come later.

Think of it again like how Apple or Honda do their releases. They typically do a 1 year refresh on most of their products/cars. Every 4 years they may have a major overhaul (Plastic Macbook to aluminum unibody MacBook, body style of the 94-98 Accord to 99 Accord), but the years inbetween have subtle differences. Those differences may warranty some people to upgrade, while others may wait for a major overhaul. It all depends on how long you want to wait, and if you feel the changes justify the cost difference.

This is very true. As an employee of one said company, I can testify that not even we get told about new product releases. New product releases are held under wraps tightly for good reason.

I don't think it'd be a bad idea to go ahead and go for them. I just got my A40's in the mail yesterday and I love them. They're amazing.

I'll be purchasing my a30s (hopefully) today, and I'll let you know when they arrive. I just wanted to thank everyone for the frequent and honest responses. Astro is probably one of the best supporting companies i've ever seen. Thanks again, to everyone!
-A soon to be proud A30 owner.
