I would like to see a usb wall charger for the mixamp as I sit around 11ft away from my xbox I cant have the usb plugged into there and have since started to use my laptops usb which is abit annoying cause I have to have it on when I want to be on the xBox , either that or burn through batteries which I dont want to do , I have tried the apple usb wall charger but I found that my headset got some sick feed back so a wall charger built by Astro for the mixamp would be perfect.

Another wall charger might give a similar electrical distortion. My suggestion is buy the rechargeable battery pack.

Unless you play for more than 12 hours a day you should not have any problems. A second cheaper solution is just a USB extension cable(M/F cable).

For example

I would get this but I still need it plugged in which is a problem cause I can only plug it into my laptops usb which means having it swiched on or in the apple charger and get some feedback.

You could use the battery pack, and when your done gaming connect it to the apple charger or laptop. Then pop it off the apple charger when you wan't to game. The battery pack is the equivalent of having AA batteries, just you can charge them easily when your done gaming.

With the USB extension cable you can connect it directly to your console with no problem.

Choice is yours.

the reason why you get distortion is that most usb wall chargers aren't regulated and the power output labeled on the charger is normally not accurate, you need to find a regulated 12v usb wall adapter.

you can also buy usb extension cords, I've used one with my mixamp before, works fine.

There are USB -> Wall charger converters available. One came with my HTC Hero, and it works with my mixamp.

really ? That would be perfect as my HTC Hero just came today , so using that wouldn't give any feedback or distortion ?

I have a HTC wall charger that outputs 5V - 1A (LPS) through a mini usb connector. It came with my HTC P3600. Like this one: http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/uk/p_htc_item.aspx?i=140772
You reckon this will power my Mixamp ??

Why can you only plug it into your laptop? There are 3 USB ports on a 360, and idk about a PS3. If you use a wireless network connector for 360, that occupies your back port. And there are 2 on the front, meaning you could just buy a USB hub for like 5 bucks, and use it to power your Mixamp, as well as plug maybe an ipod of something else into your console. Also, if you are occupying those front two ports with wired 360 controllers, you can use the USB hub (which usually offer like an additional 3-7 USB female ports) to also connect a controller. I've done it before, as I own only wired ones. The hub is basically the thing that comes with Rockband, it will power your extra controllers or mixamp just fine. No need for using your laptops USB port, or the wall AC adapter that could possible be a cause of distortion.

Yeah, It'll power it. I also have a regulating wall plug that I got with my HTC Touch Pro. The plug has a regulator that converts the AC voltage into USB voltage. I don't see why you would want to do this though. USB is designed to not only carry power but data as well. If you plug it into your PC or PS3 you will utilize this dual functionality. Only the 360 uses it for power only. Have you run out of USB ports on your 360? If so then this may be one of your options.

I pull up old threads all the time. As long as it's not archived I always thought it was ok.
