This kit will have the same ear cups/pads and microphone that ships with the 2011 edition A40s, and can be installed on the older A40s. More so for those people who want the added bass due to the sound isolation and the new mic. It's called the "Tournament Kit" since these changes more so help the MLG/tournament players with the sound the crowd makes (blocks more noise out), and the mic is less omni-directional, so those cheers won't be heard as much through the mic.

Since you have both. Does the new mic and pads make a noticeable difference?

Yes it does.I did notice that there is more bass and the mic is better.Does what they intended it too.Order it and you'll be happy you did.

I was about to but the kit cost $20 and shipping is $10. I live an hour from Astro and 20 mins from the wherehouse. When the bass boost is on RX the bass isn't too bad but I'll probably wait a couple weeks and see what more people say about it. Maybe they'll be in the private store soon and I'll order a Scout bag too.

yeah I don't have the wireless mix amp but I am hoping that they will add it to the private store also soon.

I swear, FedEx always seems to drop the ball whenever I order something I really want. The tracking page hasn't been updated since Saturday, but I keep refreshing the page every 5 minutes.

SERIOUSLY! when my a40s came in they delivered them to 2014 instead of 2041.

Damn, now that is rough. I am guessing your neighbors are nice enough to give the package to you. With my luck it would have been delivered to the old guy that doesn't answer his door because he thinks people are trying to kill him. One time I had to hop his fence to get my dog's frisbee because he would not answer the door even though I saw him inside.

Anyways, I finally got an update about an hour ago that says my kit is being delivered today. Let's just hope the FedEx guy leaves it by the door this time. Such a hassle last month when I had to go to the FedEx place twice in one week (before Valentines) because they couldn't just leave the thing on my doorstep.

Just installed my new ear pads and they feel great! They are much more solid and seem to keep form much longer, like memory foam. By the way, the installation was a breeze and took about 10 minutes total. I used a flat plastic spudger to guide the lip in; a little easier than doing it by hand. Can't wait to test out my new microphone and ear pads later tonight!
