I just wanted to start a thread that people could talk about anything and everything that they want to see from Astro Gaming. From clothing designs all the way to new technologies that they should look into. The reason Astro created this forum is so they could hear what the communities wants and needs are so… let's hear it, anything goes (under Astro guidlines) TYPE AWAY! :D

Heh, well I think that's what the "Suggestion Box" is for, but hrmm. :P I just don't think a thread needs to be made for this kind of thing.

A mixamp rated for 600ohm headphones ;) with an extra DTS processing mode. It would be expensive but a nice higher end model.

Well it seemed that some things in here were a little off topic so I wanted to try to get the the ball rolling again.

ok first off i love the astro gaming headset and mix amp already but there are 3 or 4 things that i would like to see them come out with and that would probably make me come back to astro so here's what i thing they need to do for a new headset and mix amp being the astro a50 or something like that.
ok first thing
1. Upgrade the headset so it has 4 speakers in each ear cup like that tritton ax pros which sound amazing, true 5.1 is way better the simulated surround sound, so yah if they came out with a headset with true 5.1 surround sound with 4 speakers in each ear cup that would be sick.
2. make it so the microphone has microphone monitoring so you can hear yourself abit while playing late at night so your not screaming like i would in a clan match with the a40's.
4. make it so the mix amp has 4 buttons where you can adjust the front , rear, center, subwoofer, for the 4 speakers in each ear cup.
5. have a bass boast options on the mix amp, so there can be better bass, cause right now the astro a40 is lacking in the department.
5. upgrade it to the newest version of dolby pro logic 2 , and last thing just make the overall sound more richer and to have more bass .
now that would be the ultimate headset and i know cause i have had ever headset out there from turtle beach x1, turtle beach x3, turtle beach x4 , turtle beach x41, turtle beach hpx, astro a40's , tritton ax pro's, tritton ax720's and a couple of others , and i am currently using the tritton ax pro just because of the sound, its crazy how good the trittons sound i know alot of people would say you dont know what your talking about astro a40's sound better and lol that;s is funny the people that say astro sound better than tritton ax pro's are usually those kids that are 12-18 that look up to all the pro MLG players so meaning they want to be cool and use what the pros use. but really astro are good for pro players is because of the ease to use for mlg/lan events where you can hook up mixamp to mixamp so thats why they use them . anyways i am not hating on astro i love there products the have the best quality out there, like the tritton ax pro have amazing true 5.1 sound, but the mic breaks on it everyday and they always break with in a month so has for that astro are way better in that part all i want to see is astro come out with a headset with 4 speakers in each ear cup with true 5.1 and add some better bass and have options to change the volume of each speaker that would be sick and if they came out with that i would buy one right away and then throw my tritton ax pros in the garbage ..... iight who agrees

well there is a reason that they use simulated surround and only 1 speaker per ear cup becuase if you use 4 speakers they are going to use small ****y speakers but if you use 1 it can be big and of great quality.

yah thats not true either though the astro a40 using a 40mm speaker or a 50mm speakers, the tritton ax pros using 20mm speaker for center, 30mm for rear, 30mm for front and 40or50mm speaker for sub , so what your say about that is why they dont use 4 small cheap speakers then one 40mm speaker just put it this way one of the speakers in one of the ear cups in the tritton is same size as the one in the astro and then you still have another three in the tritton so again try to come up with something better than that

well i would agree that it looks awsome on paper, i just dont think that it translates into listening pleasure. I have used a friends ax pros and then another friends astros and i perfered the astros due to sound fidelity the trittons just didnt seem as crisp, becuase to keep prices down they use 8 cheaper speakers supposed to useing 2 HQ ones but I respect you opinion, but an astro headset with 4 speakers in each ear cup would cost a lot more then the current one. Any other ideas?

It doesn't at all, the trittons are bad. Some people say the trittons sound "better" but that is because the astro a40 has a different set of sound properties.
Pairing the mixamp with any pair of high end headphones will give you the same sensation as the trittons, with much better sound quality and channel seperation than the trittons. Emulation is not really the right word as dolby emulation is more accurate than cramming speakers into your ear. You get sharper channel seperation, rather than true channel seperation where dolby headphone is closer to the sound space you would get from actual speakers. Reason being it works more with how your brain translates sound.
Headphones are an easy way to get the most detail as well without investing thousands in a speaker system.
While it does look, and sound amazing on paper when you actually learn a the bare basics of how sound, and headphones it all quickly falls apart.
I mean just this video alone, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fligG_SLnOc&NR=1
It works with any pair of headphones, even a cheap $20 headset just by manipulating sound.

I hate the trittons plus dolby headphone technology is really a wonderful thing that seems to work for me. Also the drivers in the trittons are terrable.

There are a few problems. The drivers being small and ****y only effect the ending audio quality especially in relation to volume.
They are also too close together, far too close to properly envelop the true spectrum of what a speaker in that position is supposed to envelop. It is a noble idea, but poorly thought out. Once again some might attribute the sharpness in direction to being "better" just as much as people attribute a loud volume to be "better" sounding.

Probably the only thing i would suggest is to start selling astros in stores because im sure it would promote good competition and alot more people would buy them, also to maybe give the option of using different fabrics in the ear cups in the head phones like a mesh or something.
