I got some relatives in SF. I went there for my mom's cousin's wedding like 10-12 years ago. Beautiful city.

Currently, I'm just moving for the sake of moving. I need a fresh start, and an escape from my current dead-end job. I love my job, but it's not getting me anywhere. So...a few of my friends are moving there, and asked me to move in with them! I'm very excited, and I'll be applying at the Conservatory of Music while I'm there. =)

How is the job market in San Francisco? That's really my only worry. I won't be moving until April or so, so I have time to save money for rent ahead of time until I find a job. So hopefully it won't be too insane trying to find one.

Hrm, some of the Missions burrito joints are good, but I actually prefer one called Gordo's Burritos in Outer Richmand, and Inner Sunset. 9th & Irving/Judah, 19th & Geary, and 24th & Clement are the locations. Check em out sometime Stan. =)

Awesome! I'll have to check them out. My personal favorite is El Farolito's on 24th & Mission, right on the BART. ALWAYS a line anytime of the day and night. You know it's worth it.

While my main instrument is the clarinet, I play all clarinets, all flutes, percussion (and drum set, though I'm really not great), some piano, and all saxes. I'm kind of a band geek lol

Well SF's an ecclectic city, so I'm sure you'll be able to fit in. Re: music lessons, it may be a little hard, but I'm sure by posting around at different shops/community boards type areas, you'd be able to find some participants in providing lessons. Have you thought about being a music instructor in a school setting?

Well, yeah the whole music lessons would just be a supplemental thing to my income. I intend to get a full time job (provided I can find one).
As far as teaching goes, I've given it thought, but I don't really think I'd be that great at it lol
I don't know if I'd have enough patience to do that.

I've inquired about this before, but does Astrogaming ever do office tours? Or is there nothing noteworthy to see in the office? LOL. Since I'm close by, may be a good opportunity. =P

In my travels, I've got to visit some interesting places of work. Some of them were just normal offices (Microsoft in Mountain View, Apple, Google (Great Cafeteria)). Some of them were pretty neat (Behemoth Studios in San Diego, EMICMG in Nashville (office with recording studios), couple of radio stations.

Oh, I'd be sure to return the favor. I only work for a non-profit that provides mental health services for children & families, BUT my brother works at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) in SF's Presideo. Unfortunately he leaves for a 6 month stint to a new ILM office in Singapore next week.

Strangely, I've never visited his old office up at the Skywalker Ranch, nor the SF Presideo campus yet. I'm a huge Star Wars fan too! Just never have any time that I'm not working down in the south bay.

In any case, the offer stands as soon as he gets back, if maybe 2 of ya guys want to visit the ILM office, I'm sure he can get us in post June 2010. =P
