Do the Astro A40's come with an optical cable?

No, the A40's don't come with an optical cable. Neither does the wired MixAmp. The wireless MixAmp does come with a 3ft optical cable though. You'll need more than just wires to work with the PS3. You'll also need either the wireless or wired MixAmp to connect to the PS3 for the A40's to work with it.

Ok thanks. I was going to go for the whole package. Im guessing if i buy them as one that i would have all the wires i need?

It all depends on what you get. If you get the wired MixAmp then you will need to also buy a optical cable. I suggest Amazon for that. If you go with the wireless MixAmp then it already comes with the optical cable. If you are going to use it on the PC or PS3 then you will also need the PS3 chat cable and I do suggest that you get the rechargeable battery pack for the wireless MixAmp as well.
