rechargerable battery not chargering

hiya guys just set up my son,s new a40 head set and amp connected to xbox 360 with usb lead to power up the rechargerable battery notice both the power buttons r on so it works fine apart from no amber light flashing to say it,s chargering the batts up ,already tryed it with my a40 amp set up and it works fine thought there was afault on the batterys look,s like a fault on my son,s new amp anybody had the same problem and did u get any help on the matter cheers
