I have a question on getting the optical cable

I was wondering if you can buy an optical cable that will fit the headset package, Because Its $310.0 all together, so im looking to get it cheaper. And I'm wondering if you can buy Astro products on a different website cheaper or if you only can buy on this website.

I dont think astro but I seen a 9ft opti cable at gamestop for $9.99 but not as nice of quality as astros.

As long as you have an optical cable going into the mixamp it seems that it doesn't matter where the cable came from. So in theory here, the cheaper the better because the cables do the same thing. As for other things like the headphones, I wouldn't trade my A40s for anything. Unbelievable quality.

Optical is a pure digital connection far as I understand, like HDMI there is very little to degrade the quality of the signal besides distance. As in it works or doesn't work logic.

Personally Monoprice sells VERY durable optical cables on the cheap, they are heavier as the material used is not a rubber'ish material. If you take your mixamp to events having a durable cable will result in less worry. Otherwise if your not rubbing on or moving it as much you can get any optical cable.

If your covering 50ft-100ft+ distances, than you might need to invest heavily. Usually in some kind of amplification units as any signal degrades over distance, analog more so than digital. ;)

Monster for instance makes great high end audio cabling, but their HDMI cables and the such are just simply overpriced.
