I just wanted to throw in a topic here on handheld gaming. I own an ipod touch, DS lite, and an old huge style PSP (which is still quite small..) and game on all of the platforms.

On my PSP I play mostly racing games with a few shooters. I just got Need for Speed Shift for kicks and its been a pretty solid game so far, one of the better NFS titles on the PSP. I need to get the new Motorstorm sometime as well as Gran Turismo when it comes out, I'll probably be playing Gran Turismo like all day. For a while I played the new Resistance for the online component but never got into it really.

DS wise I'm a Pokemon kinda guy. Beat all three of the most recent games and can't waittt for the new ones to come out,I'm sure I'm going to spend 40+ hours on each easy in way to short of an amount of time. I've played a few other games, Zelda, Kirby's Canvas Curve, but none of them really attract me and get me hooked the way Pokemon does. I've tried a lot of genres I love on the psp but they just don't work as well without the graphical prowess of the PSP, such as FPS (Call of Duty) and racing games (Such as grid). They just need the processor power for smoother gameplay and more intense physics and realism.

Ipod touch wise I only do limited gaming when I'm bored waiting for classes really, mostly play Need for Speed and Modern Combat (Modern warfare look-alike) which is easily the best FPS on the iphone/ipod.

Just thought I'd start some discussion on this, I'm sure there are plenty of other guys on this forums that do some handheld gaming.

Gotta love my DSi and Scribblenauts. That game is cheesy, simple yet fun. You could play that over and over and still be endlessly amused. That and I'm a Tetris addict. Anyone up for a Tetris DS match? :D

I've seen a lot of press on scribblenauts but never actually bothered reading about it, what is the premise/objective of the game? I've seen that you write words to make objects but what are you trying to do with them? Might have to try it out

I have had all the Game Boy systems, and I have a Nintendo DS right now.

ZOMG!!!! I am a Pokemon expert. But before I get into that, I must first state to those of you who are thinking I'm either 8 years old or a nerd: The thing thing that interests me isn't little animations flailing o the screen, it's the game mechanics. The vast majority of people don't know how to manipulate your Pokemon's stats. Rasing them to Lv 100 won't do anything in a competitive setting.

Unless you can explain to me what this formula calculates, and the details of it, do not tell me this is a kid's game:
??? = ((Math.Ceiling(Stat / Personality Value) - 5) x 100 / Level) - 2 x Base Stat – Math.Floor(Effort Points / 4)

Prior to me having my own computer (up until three years ago, when I was in high school), all I did was Pokemon. I have memorized all the regions, and images of them are burned into my head. My brother and I each have over 200 hours in each game, with probably over 800 in Gold and Silver (that was before game time was tracked). That was pretty much our entire lives until high school. Yup. I'm SO glad I hav my own computer now.

Anyway, Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver (remakes of Gold and Silver) are coming out in Spring 2010! I must get them....

The only portable game console I got is the DS Lite, and the only reason I got it was because it was free. I only really play the Nintendo games, just sticking with the classic remakes. Other than that, all I really play is Scribblenauts. Gotta love that game.
