Alright, is an optical cable really worth the 30 bucks?
I ordered an a40 audio system but didnt get the optical cable because i didnt think it was worth it.
After watching a couple reviews I learned that an optical greatly increased sound quality.
So how big of a difference is it?
(and if you guys have any recommendations for certain cables that are cheaper, better etc. let me know.)

I got mines from Monoprice, they are highly durable. At tad heavy and LONG for $7 each.
Much like HDMI(assuming you get one that supports v1.3) though there really isn't any way you can go wrong with an optical cable.

The TOSlink optical cable allows you to utilize the 5.1 Dolby Digital feature that comes with your MixAmp to its full potential. So in my own personal opinion, yes it is worth the money.
