I think this might be of help to a few people, i have actually heard people asking around to do a comparison.
Me and my friends actually did a full blown comparison about a week ago, and im happy to share the results
:)

This Is A Music Listening Comparison

1. Clearness, edge=A40's, these are the clearest headsets i have ever heard when coming to music.

2. Lows, Mids, edge+ A40's they seem to perform superb when it comes to distinguishing these.

3. Bass Edge= beats audio by a semi long shot, however the bass does sort of jumble up the other sounds if that makes sense.

4. Loudness edge = Beats, they seem to be a little bit louder, but this all depends on how you listen to your music, for me i love listening to it loud lol.

5. Comfort edge = Both, however the a40's are definitely bigger. (but if size doesnt matter lol)

6. Adjustments edge= beats, the beats can slide up from your ear while your still listening, the astros do have a nice fit when you twist them on your neck, however with the beats you definitely get a little more as far as convienence wise.

7. Uses, edge = most definitely a40s, whether it comes to recording sounds for songs, playing video games, or listening to your iPod this definitely gives you a bigger array of things to do, also you can get these for a little cheaper (w/o any mixamp) so that definitely comes into play.

Final Tally
40's - 4

Beats - 4

A TIE LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PLEASE GIVE YOUR TAKE ON THIS ALSO IF YOU OWN ANY BEATS HEADSET OR ASTRO PRODUCT, ALSO I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOUR TAKE ON ALL OF THE CATEGORIES I WENT OVER!!!

you should of tested the A30's as they are for all round usage as for the A40's they are more for gaming than music..???

I personally wouldn't use A40's OR Beats for music.

For the price of most beats headphones/IEMs, there are many superior alternatives for music. Not going to get too specific, but if you're aching to find out, just visit head-fi.org and ask around.

i read beats have more mids than anything. their really good for litsening to more rock music, but lack bass for the rap areas. never have tried them myself

lol dang i was just doing a comparison of the beats studio headset and the a40's. I wanted to compare one of the more popular music headphones to our own a40's. I thought it would be fun or helpful lol. All u guys are talking about better headphones lol IM JUST COMPARING THESE TWO LOL. If i wanted to talk about the best headphones for music and stuff id probly say m50's or something like that....i guess i wont post stuff like this anymore...
