I was thinking about buying them until thinking... I would never go back to regular. For instance ever since using a headset I can't play without one. If I was at a friends house its not a big deal playing with no headset but playing with out the FPS would be a huge change and I wouldn't be able to not play with it.
I hope you get what I mean.. haah:D
ya i gotcha :)
ya i was just wondering cause they looked weird haha, ya and theydo look like they extend your thumbs too high

Personally I don't like those kinds of add-ons. You could easily add a material to the stick to add traction which keeps the ergonomics the same.
I do own the Giotech triggers on my PS3 controller though which definately makes using them more enjoyable.

I actually own them myself, they are awesome and do help out with the aiming part of your game.
As for someone having said that they are not allowed at events, I've actually heard otherwise. In no way are the FPS Freek's classified as a controller mod, they're more of a controller add on. And from what I've heard, they are already allowed at events.

From their website's FAQ section, they do have listed:
Q) I know I can use these in the comforts of my home online, but can I use them at LANs and at MLG events?
A) We are proud to say FPS Freeks have been sanctioned for MLG events.
If people have already used them at tournaments, and have had results of winning by using them, then it would be unfair for others NOT to use them, as it already put a precedent to what people can use and win with.

so your saying if someone uses a Astro it would be unfair for someone who doesn't and it shouldn't be allowed. Also if someone had a better pair of shoes than the other kid in basketball it would be unfair?

Yea dude, it's a gamer's choice in the type of equipment that he/she uses. In my case, I'll have a set of A40s on Friday, and I have the FPS freeks already. It's more of personal choice then it is can or cannot.

Like the other user posted, it's more of an option of if they can, or cannot use them (be it a astro a40, some other headset, or FPS freak "add-ons"), if people have been allowed to use them in the same tournament. If it's some new decision that at the start of the tournament all FPS Freak add-ons would be banned, then that would work, but if it's something that was decided while half of the games were played, then I'd be pretty upset.
In the case of a40s or not, well that's a personal preference, as well as a financial one. While most A40 users will probably outshine a person who's not using an A40 (and say, using a Turtle Beach headset), it's not deemed "unfair" in a tournament, since both are legally allowed.
It's more like the game of baseball. You have your standard rules (3 strikes, you're out. 4 balls, you walk. 3 outs per inning, etc.). Each player can choose what kind of mit they want, as well as what bat they want to use (with exceptions). All these baseball players have the option of using the same bat, or they can use one their more familiar with. What doesn't change at all is the rules, as well as the ball.

Well it's not like the FPS Freeks are really changing the rules. It's making what's on the controller, in this case the joysticks, more precise.
Let me put it this way and see how you take it. Let's say me and you are playing Halo 1 on the PC. Now while for years I have been pretty good with a mouse & keyboard setup, there are many, many different keyboards and well as many, many different types of mice. Disregarding that fact though, if you were playing with a controller while I played with my mouse and keyboard, wouldn't you want the FPS Freeks to make precision a little better?
I mean, yea it is a matter of choice. But you take into the fact that they aren't banned and they aren't doing anything but adding precision. The same could be said about Laser mouse over Optical mouse. Its just really a matter of choice.

I've had mine for about a month and I love them. My accuracy has gone up noticeably, and I find myself snapping to targets a lot better than before. Not a magic get better device, but if you take your gaming seriously, it's a good buy. Cost me about 10 dollars total including S&H.

I've seen these and for a time I wanted to get some, but then I realized that I'd get too used to them and would never be able to get back to using a normal controller.

Oh, so I got my pair of the FPS Freek's last week. Been using them since that time, but haven't seen a huge difference. It helps some with sensitive aiming, but doesn't change the overall performance much. Still, it's more like an enhancement to your playstyle for players that like dealing high sensitivity and the aiming moving too much.

It shines in FPS gaming. I mean that's what it was made for. But it does work well with other type of games as well. Over the course of the year that I've had mine I've played just about every genre to give them a good test and in just about every one they helped out in some tiny way. It is just a matter of opinion but the high sensitivity does help regardless of who you are.

Honestly, they were probably the worst thing I have ever bought for my xbox.
The reason I don't like them might be because I play on 10 sensitivity on MW2, lol that might be the problem, I have been playing with 10 for like a year, and I am used to it, if I worked my way back down to 3 or , I might actually like them.

LOL, so as an update, I've now been using these for about a month, and I now believe they do make a difference. It gives the controller a different feel, as now my aim stick is a lot higher, and I'm really used to that now. About a week or two ago, my controller started acting up (My Left Thumb Button wouldn't depress, so I couldn't run in MW2, lame), so I switched out for my other wireless controller. I didn't have the FPS Freek installed on this one, and started playing, but immediately the gameplay and mechanics with using the regular controller felt awkward. My aim was also a bit off, but it's because I had become so acustom to using the FPS Freeks.
I'll be letting a clan mate of mine borrow one to see what she thinks. She's not that great of a FPS gamer, but she's been improving, so if this actually does help her, then I'll be 100% sold on their products. =P

Well I really don't know anybody that does not plays Any FPS games with sensibility setting set at the highest level. Also it took me a couple of hours to get used to them. My friends says he didn't get used to them until a couple a days later bacause he only plays like 2 hours a day. But the reviews are great all over the net.

Yea it took me about a week to get used to them myself. And as for having your sensitivity set on 10, are you on speed or something? How the hell do you work with that? I used to do it when I was all hyped up on energy drinks but jesus that's crazy.
I've had them about a year now and no breakdown what-so-ever. I love the things. The company, Kontrol Freek, like Astro, is very great with their customer support. I give you guys props, any trouble I've had with my Astros I've gotten it solved in a matter of hours if that. Props to the support guys.

A lot of guys only use the right stick attachment and leave the left stick normal. I've been wanting to try some just to see how it is, but I have a feeling I won't like them. I already play with a 7 or 8 sensitivity on MW2 and I do pretty well.
Let us know how it goes as you grow more comfortable with them.

Try increasing your sensitivity for aiming slowly by one. Get used to how to aim like that, and after a week, turn it up another notch.
Right now I'm at I believe a sensitivity of 6 or 7 on MW2. It allows me to "turn" faster and to aim faster, but it does make it a bit harder to fine tune the aim at a guy who's far away. So it kind of depends on what style of gameplay you like. If you're more of a "rusher" who is going to be up and close with most of the enemies, you definitely want a high-ish sensitivity, so that you can turn and engage your enemies quicker. If you're more of a reserved, back-field player, I'd go with a low to medium sensitivty range, as most of the time you're waiting for the enemy to advance to your position.

well I like to be in the meat of the batlle...I really do not see how people that just sit around with their sniper rifles waiting for someone find it fun...
Ok, so right now im on the Medium Setting (4), so I should turn it down to (3) for a week until i get adjusted to the FPS then move it up slowly??
