Just what exactly does the TOslink cable do?( I am guessing it increases audio quality) Also does it plug into your Xbox from the Mixamp or somewhere else?

And just to make sure, is the USB cable is a power souce for the mixamp that is connected to my PC? If so how long is it?

TOSlink are basically the term for optical cables and yes from what I believe the 360 does have an optical out which can go directly into your mixamp.

You'll also be able to connect the mixamp to the PC with the USB alone which supports sound/voice but you'll always need to be connected via optical cable if you wish to enjoy 5.1 (not sure whether additional settings/software is needed for PC side.)

yes the USB provides power to the mixamp with the absence of batteries but I believe it is required with both the PC/PS3 if you wish to use it's voice functions.

^^Nope i thought u used the green voice cord and u need the usb for ps3 to talk with mic

Incorrect. I've already tested the mixamp connected to PC alone with only a USB cable and the headset connected to the mixamp. But they also supply the green/pink cords that you can attatch the headset to without the need of the mixamp, this can be useful if you wish to keep the mixamp connected to the PS3/360 without having the need to move the unit to the PC. But yes, USB is required with PS3 for both voice/power if your not using batteries.
