I'm looking to buy a tv soon, and I was wondering what kind is the best for watching tv and playing games.

Plasma
LED
LCD
DLP

Also when you specify what type, specify what brand you'd recommend.

Price = 1000 or Less U.S. $

i have a toshiba 40 inch lcd. was around 750. great tv. has a special "game mode" which shortens the response time which is pretty sweet. just make sure your tv is 1080 and not 720

Why not 720, my 32" is and my friend has the same brand same size but 1080 and it looks damn near the exact same.

higher resolution. just stick with 1080

Go with the Infinia series LED's by LG as they have black levels that are on par with most Plasmas. More efficient and uses little power so they don't get very hot. 1.1 inches thick. Very slim and can be hung on the wall very easily. They also have 9,000,000:1 contrast ratios. :D
