Have you guys at Astro ever considered a "light" version of the A40s? Perhaps with the same functionality (daisy chaining and input mixing, compatible with the MixAmp) but smaller, and at a cheaper price. These Lite versions would also be compatible with the normal A40s but would basically just have less surround sound capabilities. I'm picturing something basically like the Skullcandy headset, but with Astro style and functionality.
Thoughts?

I agree, that sounds like a good thought, but the reason I bought an A-40 was just the fact that it has superior capabilities that other headsets didn't offer. Not to mention the daisy-chaining. I wouldn't want Astro to try and make a headset that was sub-par to the A-40.I would hope that Astro will continue to make products that exceed my expectations and push the limits. I am fine with the price because I am always willing to shell out a bit more money for something that has a good track record. That's just my two-cents..

Actually I'm thinking they'll make some sort of wireless mic for the 360. Something like Microsoft's, but more "Astro-y". Wireless mic with swapable faceplates. Perhaps they'll do something amazing - Micro MixAmp - a smaller version of the MixAmp, maybe without the MP3 line in as well, since that isn't really NEEDED.

Yeah lets take out the MP3 port to save room.

Nope, don't think that will make it smaller :D.

TOS, RCA, COAX, and MP3 can go. RCA can be replaced with 3.5mm in. And they could remove the battery compartment, so there would be no battery power (maybe a battery to USB cord could be purchased..)

Using this suggestion I present to you to ASTRO Gaming Micro-MixAmp Prototype V1!
1) This is the top. It has flat sliders instead of control dials which stick out.

2) The sides includes a 2.5 Jack to connect MixAmps together. This would replace the Daisy Chain as the bottom (Battery Compartment) has been removed

3) The Front includes only options for the Headset and Controller

4) The Back includes all the ports (Optical, PC and USB) needed to use the MixAmp with both the PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The bottom ports were removed because of the battery compartment being removed.

Great, although I do like the knobs, perhaps just give them a lower profile, they don't need to stick out that much. Also, I'm thinking more people may be using the RCA option as opposed to the TOSlink option, although I could be wrong. Here's my idea of what the back would look like. The small plug is indeed doable, is smaller than the TOSlink, and you can pick up an RCA to 3.5mm cord at your local AV store for probably less than $5.

just a thought you should have the optical cable at the top instead of bottom. seems more practical, and another hole for the daisy chain :) . but i do like the design!
