Potential Customer Looking For Some Help!

I am extremely interested in picking up a pair or these awesome looking headphones and just a few questions and was wondering if anybody could help me out. For those who have purchased the headset, Is the quality of the headphones comparable to other headphones. Looking around online, I seem to have people who swear that these are the best headphones out there, and others who claim that they are good, but the bass is very weak. Is this true? Also, if I was to buy just the headset without the mixamp are they still a decent pair of headphones, or should I just go for the whole package? And finally, would it be better off to just wait? It seems like these headphones came out a while ago, is anybody expecting the next generation to release in 2010? If so Id rather just wait until then. If anybody can help me out its very much appreciated, and I hope to become an astro owner myself soon.

there not comparable to any headphones mabye trittons but trittons are a wire havoc and break easily
the bass is pretty weak
why wait they just got all updated stuff
also you cant use them without the mixamp to talk to people over xbl

Does the fact that the bass is weak really make a difference? I would ideally also like to use them for music as well (both off the PC and Ipod). And I don`t really have any interest using them with my consoles, just my PC, so is the mixamp still a buy? Thanks again appreciate the help.

the bass really isnt that weak but if u compare it to other headsets it is its still good also do you really just wanna hear grenades in a game im not saying its that weak but its weak compared to other headsets
