First Astro Purchase... A few small ?'s

Okay so i've been looking into getting a top of the line Gaming headset for a few months now and Astro is looking to be my brand but i had a few questions.

1). I will be playing primarily on a PS3 and was wondering when the new Mixer came out to hook direct to the PS3. (i read about it on these forums, but it looks like the mixer for sale can do the PS3 just fine, IDK, noobie.

2). Also i would like the set of headphones i buy be capable of using them to watch blu-rays in 5.1. Since i know these are gaming headpones i figured i would ask. Plus all the reviews were mostly 360 related.

Yes, our new USB MixAmp works 100% with the PS3. With the USB functionality, you can get the game/voice balance adjustment on the PS3 as you would an Xbox 360.

Absolutely! All that is handled by the MixAmp. What you'll need to do is go into the audio settings in your PS3, disable Dolby DTS and enable Dolby 5.1. Then all sounds outputted from the PS3 whether it a game or a movie will be in Dolby 5.1 surround.

with the new mixamp is the optical cable still required to get 5.1 surround sound now that the amp directly connects to the ps3 via USB?

Yes. To get the best and fullest effect, you would want to use the TOSlink optical cable. The USB portion of the MixAmp is to power it and to provide the voice/game balancing.
