Will there be a wireless version of the a40/a30 systems because the wires are really getting in my way. You could probably put the volume controls on the speaker tags and have a RF receiver to get a signal and a wire to connect to the audio port on the controller? ( If think is a good idea for astro to do put that u agree below )

So all of the MixAmp components would be in the actual headset? That would be interesting, but would make the headset pretty heavy. And you would still need some kinda box that attaches to your console to send the signal to your headphones.
In any case, there's always the issue of being able to control a wireless signal (or in the case of ASTRO, a hundred wireless signals in a LAN/Competition environment) and providing the optimal sound. Until that solution is found, I don't think there will be a wireless headset.

I don't think that Wireless Astro's would be good. I have used several wireless headsets and wired once, and I have to say wired beats wireless every time. The quality of the sound is better IMO, not to mention there is substantially less interference from lets say cell phones and what not.

I have the Turtle Beach x41 and Astro A40 audio system. They are both good for different things I like my astro's style better (blue bxr) and like the Turtle Beach's bass a bit more for movies and such but for gaming I stick with my A40 too much interference with the x41 although it is significantly better than the x4. But yeah way to much inference and static + its heavy to boot in my x41 although they have the advantage of 7.1 and dolby pro logic II. But A40 for gaming all the way I prefer the cable until a better solution comes around plus the x41 eats batteries to the tune of about 4-7 hrs. = 2 batteries gone.

Why wont the wireless threads go away already? I am pretty sure the great minds behind Astro were like should we make the best headphones possible or do we try to copy everyone else. i am glad they went with the best headphones because i have nothing to complain about my purchase. And soon i will be purchasing a set for my little brother because he is always stealing my headphones. Great Job Astro!!!!

Because some people keep posting in them and reviving old ones?

No, the funniest thing is when people post these threads and never look at them again, and maybe never even come back on the ASTRO forums, he's got 1 post, and it's that first one... That's what's funny.

i'll point to my other post about why wireless threads don't die http://forums.astrogaming.com/showpost.php?p=20952&postcount=15
he likes to FTW them to much :D
IMO wireless Astros would fail, simply due to the fact that the Mixamp could not possibly achieve such full results, sound would be lost.

I don't know the technical details behind wireless headsets, but my thoughts.
There is a need for wireless headset for the average gamer. Many average gamers like to sit on the living room couch playing with their wireless controller so being tied to the TV by a long cable defeats that purpose.
Maybe some sort of hybrid system could work?
3 main components:
Headset
MixAmp
Receiver
The receiver would connect to the console, powered by usb & all audio cables, etc plugged into it. The receiver then transmits over wireless to the MixAmp. The Headset to MixAmp (& voice) connections would be the same except that the cable going to the headset would also carry a power cable from the mixamp to the headset, meaning you don't need heavy batteries sitting in the headset itself and they would use the battery in the MixAmp for power. Maybe also adding an AC power adapter to the MixAmp for quicker charging.
Yes the wireless will never be as good as wired, but wireless is very popular in the market. Look at wifi, it isn't nearly as fast as wired, yet tonnes of people run their stuff off of wifi.
Just my thoughts on the wireless subject. Now let me get back to my A40's :D

If I recall, they don't have this planned for anytime soon. This topic has been brought up numerous times already. Turtle Beach attempted this with the x41's and they have issues with certain types of routers so I don't see Astro having plans for it until better wireless technology surfaces.
Cheers...

What I honestly see ASTRO doing in the future is maybe trying to get the wires down to one or two.. If that is even feasible.. And improving upon the amazing sound quality, mixamp, and headsets they already have!! Because wireless as everyone else has stated would not be the way to go sound quality!! :D

I can see them putting a bass boost or maybe a bass/treble knob on the mixamp before they do a wireless system.

Like the game/voice knob? Yeah that make perfect sense.. I definitely as well see them upgrading the speakers in all of their headsets in order to compliment the new mixamp.. :D

Speaker technology is always getting better. Just look at Definitive Technology and their home theater speakers.
