So I recently got back on these forums and I got a couple of pictures of when I went to Bungie Studio's a couple of months ago (as you can tell by the clothes I'm wearing). Since a lot of you guys are Halo fans, I thought some of you guys would like to see it.

By the way, I suck at taking pictures and can't really smile.

Yeah, I had a great time. Everyone was super chill and really nice. I got to see some really cool stuff. I actually brought my Astros in my backpack, so now I can say that my Astro's were in Bungie Studios.

The building is surprisingly small, I always thought that it was some glorious huge wide open room, but it wasn't as big as I thought it was. And the funny thing is that the building is litterally connected to a pancake house.

Yeah, funny you would mention that. I'll be heading down to PAX for my 3rd year, and I might be able to stop by the new studio, but I don't know. I'll ask my friend if I can come and bring 50 of my other closest friends :D

I'm down. You for sure coming out to PAX yet? Though I'm an average asian (5'6" and like 130lbs), I've been known to down a lot of food at once, and some would say I'm a bottomless pit. At a local All-You-Can-Eat Sushi Place in San Mateo, I'm holding a current record amongst my friends with eating 37 pieces. =P Bring it!

Bungie doesn't normally do this, especially during development.
they were also in crunch a few weeks ago, so they were super busy.
and the Bungie Studio is actually fairly large, no where near small...

I'm not going to lie though, even being inside the main lobby of Bungie is a privilege, and that demands some respect in itself.

I actually never said I took a tour, I believe it was someone else's words, I wouldn't even consider it a tour. It was 30 minutes top. And like I said in the OP, I said it was a couple of months ago. To be more precise, it was in April, thus why I'm wearing a hoodie. :D

It wasn't like I walked in the front door and asked to look at the place. It helps to know people who work there too. Plus I didn't get passed the studio door, for obvious reasons. The front plaza, Street Fighter machines, and the gravity hammer was enough for me.

I don't know what you are referencing for the size of the place, but it's not really that big. Compare it to Valve, Blizzard, it doesn't even compare in size. Here's a google map of it. FYI, that QFC from what I hear is basically a Kroger. And from the looks of it the building is about the same size as it. So essentially Bungie is the size of a small grocery store.

I was never comparing it to Blizzard...in fact, I dont think any Studio can compare to Blizzard...in size or "culture"
lol in April, they were in an alpha build....

A lot of the Bungie employees are really chill, fun to play a few games with.

I know you weren't comparing them to Blizzard, just saying to other big name developer buildings (like Valve Studios and Activision Blizzard Studios) out there, they aren't even on the same level. :D

But I've heard the their new building will be huge. Something like the current square feet of their building wouldn't fit into one third of one of the levels in the new building, lol.

Yeah, your right, I remember seeing on Bnet that they had just finished the Alpha build a week before I got there.

And yeah, the Bungie guys are some of chillest people I've met out there. Luckily, the only time I could really come was during his lunch break, so I got to meet quite a few of the Bungie guys walking out of the studio. The only thing I could really remember talking about was the Starcraft 2 Beta, lol.

Blueberry Pancakes are the way to go. I say, Astro Booth, Saturday, 12:00am when I'm pretty hungry. By the way, I'm about 6'3" 150 lbs. You can kind of tell how tall I am by standing next to Master Chief who's about 7'2".

Yeah, it's pretty big, too bad it wasn't detachable. I got to touch the BR but I couldn't handle it because it was on a wall.

ok... im all for racist jokes as much as the next guy.... but i didnt see any racism in that post. it was just hey why take a pic of a big black guy..... it would be no different if he had been white. he would have just said "why take a picture of a fat white guy?" its only racist because you guys saw him saying black guy as a problem, which in turn makes you guys the problem with turning that into being racist.... i havent heard latley that saying "black guy" is wrong.... i know he says some fail posts and some dumb things, but this deffinetly dosent have anything wrong with it...... ease off the kid just a little bit.

I just died a little on the inside..

What you sayin about my style? But no really, I thought about what I was going to wear, and I just wanted to dress casual. I have like 5 Bungie shirts, but didn't want to seem like a fan boy in front of the people I was going to meet. Plus it was a little cold so I decided to wear jeans.

As for why did I take a picture with Jerome, honestly he was a pretty cool guy and my friend (the guy holding the camera) insisted I take a picture with him, but I didn't mind, because he's pretty chill.

And I agree with socks, I don't really spot any racism in his comment, though it could of definitelycould have been worded better, like the security guard. Racism is feeling hatred towards someone based on their grouping. If he had said something more stereotypical then it may be considered racist.

lol i wear skate shoes, shorts and short sleeve shirts year round in Idaho.
I will occasionally wear jeans in the winter, but I NEVER wear long sleeve shirts....but I do wear hoodies sometimes.

While I <3 skate shoes (they're so comfy), my wife detests them and forced me to get rid of them all. At least I can still wear my Puma's. =P

Ok, I've talked to my friend and said I can check some parts inside the new studiot.

Anyway, I'll take open suggestions for to wear to Bungie Studio's since apparently it's a big deal :p. I don't have skate shoes so that out of the question, but I'm thinking shorts, t-shirt (maybe Bungie shirt, I'll think about it) and the same shoes. I'll probably bring my Astro's just for the picture too. :D

The plan is all three nights during the PAX weekend. Thank god for bus transportation :D.

The Bungie Community will be going down to the studio to see it, but I don't think they are getting in unless I/they work some special magic, so you could tag along if you want. I can see if I can invite a friend in, but we'll see.

Quick Update:

Looks like I will be able to play some multiplayer Reach after PAX hours. PAX is in 9 days. Can't wait. I'll be sure to take some pictures of the front lobby or of anything I can (don't think I'll be able to take pictures of the multiplayer :P ).

So who all is going to PAX? Anyone want to meet up at the Astro Booth?

Lol, the slim dev kits look almost the same as the regular one. An untrained eye wouldn't be able to tell the difference. And I did actually see a XNA kit. Drop dead sexy.

Plus this will be the future test room, so they don't need the best development machines, just stuff that can debug.
