when you get ur astros what is the mix amp for. Do you have to get the mix amp

Sigh....

The mixamp allows you to have game audio combined with voice through the A40...so theoretically speaking you could just buy the mixamp and then use with another headset....but I would not reccomed it. Astro encourages you to buy both because the audio system is cheaper then buying the two seperatly.

The mixamp also allows you to utilize the ability for fiber optic audio, for clearer sound.

i just got my mixamp and tried using my pc headset to it but for some reason cant get voice sound to work. i cant hear people and people cant hear me. the only way i got it to work is by using an xbox mic and putting voices through speakers but then thats pointless cause i wouldnt even be able to mix the voice over game. let me know if i need to buy something extra.

Without the MixAmp, you would not be able to talk to people online, you would also lose your ability of using the super sweet 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound feature.

Well i actually was using a pc mic for a little bit on my xbox without the mixamp talking to people but couldnt hear people cause the game was to loud and thats why i got the mixamp. the dolby stuff is just a plus for me. i just got the mixamp today and idk if i need some cable or the pc mic in port on the back is broken im not sure. if anyone knows if i need a cable for this to work please say somethin. thanks
