Thanks for the reply

How do I do research? As I said, new here..learning sorry

If astro can be used with ps3 why is the info not listed under their product? And does anyone have suggestion or opinion of best setup, accessories etc..? I think they have a mini ampand other stuff,is that stuff needed, a must have,etc..??

Everything you see and hear about the astro's is about pc or xbox....wtf? Where is the love for THE other console? Cant really find any info to push me to spend the $250

As far as I have read sounds like there are just as many wires and different sounds dont adjust all that easy

Any idea of the difference in weight between the trittons and astros?

ya astros not doing so hot with the ps3 crowd but atleast there making an effort with there new mixamp

but if u buy this it will be
less cables
sound is amazing
and if your gonna use it properly buy an optical cable doesnt have to be from astro but thats the best way to hook it up and its only one cable for sound that way

there worth it and now with the better ps3 support there gonna be less cables then my model
to be exact about 3 cables
usb to ps3 for power
optical from ps3 to mixamp
and cord from the mixamp to the headset

ya no wall plugs

after these were announced i started considering buying one for use with PC and PS3, currently for PC i have Razer Pirhanas, and for my Tv crappy onboard sound. should i just bite the bullet and get these? will i see alot of upgrade in sound, the microphone is also a huge plus to me over my crappy bluetooth headset

You'll definitely notice a huge difference in sound quality and advantages to having surround sound. Additionally the game/voice balancing as well as the quick-disconnect option to jump from your PS3 to your PC or if your PC and PS3 are nearby, you can run your PC and PS3 into the MixAmp together. Pretty sweet, right? :)

Hope this helps!

the Audiosystem A40's are perfect for the PS3 as well as the 360 and PC the main reason why I've purchased these is to have a headset which can be used on both my consoles and PC (Thou if you wish to experience 5.1 with your PC you will probably need a sound card that can output in optical)

For use with your PS3 you'd want to get yourself an optical cable if you haven't already. The new Mixamp allows people to connect to the PS3 via USB but this only handles power/mic so an optical is still necessary.

Personally the only reason I can think of that there isn't much PS3 threads is from personal experience all the chat/communication usually happens over 360 with the majority of people playing over PS3 don't usually talk but once again this is just from what I experienced.

the reason u see them all about xbox/pc is cause astro barely supported ps3 until about 2 months ago and cause the old mixamp youd have to buy seprate mic adapter cords now you dont
