you are playing xbox on a standard AV cord............................?
what kind of TV do you have?
if you have a TV that is HDMI ready I strongly suggest you get this cable from microsoft...

it allows you to combine HDMI+Optical(best setup for astros)

Well first the opslink cable doesnt plug into an HDMI cable it plugs into the standard AV cord that has the TV/ HDTV switch on it. Also if you want a HDMI cable so that you can play in HDMI just look on ebay i bought 1 for 10 cents off there. And there is a mod you can do to were you can use HDMI and you TV/HDTV swtich at the same time so that you get HDMI video and opslink sound into you Astros.

Does your TV happen to have an optical/tosink out? Some TVs (most HDTVs) will have this option to connect to a stereo receiver. Because the audio is traveling to the TV at 5.1, it'll also transfer through the optical port of the TV at 5.1 (unless the manufacturer disables that function.)
