Last time i checked E3 is closed to the public.
EDIT:Registration Policies (http://www.e3expo.com/attendee/181/attendee-registration-policies/)

E3 Expo is a professional trade event and is not open to the general public. Individuals who are not able to document their direct and current professional affiliation to the interactive entertainment industry are not qualified to attend.
I have been wanting to go for years, but I dont work in the Entertainment Industry :(
I might be going to Gamescom in Germany hear in a few years. but I doubt Astro would go to that :(

lol i wouldnt even pay that even if i did work for the game industry...
i would love to go to PAX but the hotel expense would cost too much :(
its only a $200 round trip flight to Seattle so that isn't an issue, but food in Seattle is expensive, and everything id buy there would certainly add up :(
so if i were to go alone it would be around $1200(that's including the Hotel Expense which is about half the cost)

You HAVE to be in the game industry...do you work for a studio or something?
to get in you have to provide 2 items that prove you are in the industry...if you do you should invite meeeeeeeeeeeeeee :)

i meant pax, not e3 haha. i wish i worked for a studio, but sadly i do not, i enjoy my job a lot more :) but have always wanted to work for a gaming industry.

hotels are around 69 from what i saw. dollar menus are always cheap and tasty :) cant go wrong with a mcchicken, or the new spicy chicken from carls jr! i will swear by that 1$ chicken sandwich that it is quite tasty.

i have no problem with mac shack, but 69 for 1 night seems a bit low...I usually try to find the nicest hotel for the cheapest...lol, but it would be too late for me this year.:(

do you live in Seattle?
the hotels say $169 a night, but that's a bit absurd...
even if i did have the money for a $69 hotel and the $55 pass, I would still need some more to blow at the event. Currently without a job, i can hardly pay for my Halo and Computer.
whats funny about the job market here, is that Walmart isn't even hiring...fail

i live in portland, around 5 hours away. i just pricelined some hotels in seattle and there were some that were close to downtown, about 5 miles away, for around 70. its all about that priceline. pick up playing poker, or gambling of some type. thats always a win.

Agreed, but i live in Boise, so i don't have that option :(
I would have an 8-10 hour drive, and i enjoy flying anyway.
I would spend around the same in Gas as Flying btw
but a 5 hour drive is not bad.

I went to E3 in 1999. Waaaaaaaaaaay back in the day, lol. That one was in Los Angeles, I think it was the year they moved it back to L.A. from Atlanta the previous two years. Anyways...

That was the year they showed the Dreamcast.

Still my favorite videogame console.

Hey now, the Dreamcast was a great console. =P One of the early adopters that allowed 4-player games (Power Stone notably was awesome).

I had an early Apple ][e computer, that apparently also shown in the Smithsonian these days. weird.

the best part of flying is taking off and landing :)

and the dreamcast was way ahead of its time, its a better console than the wii....the graphics are amazing too.
too bad they stopped making discs, it was better than the PoS2, but people were dumb enough to buy it for the DVD player...and then Dreamcast couldnt generate enough money :(

True on all accounts, Alpha.

To this day I still own 3 Dreamcasts.

1. Japanese launch Dreamcast.
2. American launch Dreamcast.
3. Black Sega Sports Edition Dreamcast.

Also still own like 60 Dreamcast games along with 2 keyboards for Typing of the Dead, 2 sets of maracas for Samba De Amigo, 2 light guns for House of the Dead, and at least one steering wheel. Oh, also a flight stick for the Dreamcast. Man, i STILL love that system.

I might just design some custom Dreamcast tags for my A30's.

I'm actually going to E3 this year (first year) so if you guys want me to check anything out I'll be happy to :)

On a similar note: Will Astro be making an appearance on the show floor with their own booth or in any other way?

Just check out my signature ;)

I used to do some articles for a relatively large site back in '06 / '07 and then proceeded to form my own website with some other members of the community I was a part of. It's relatively easy to get into it seems because I've heard reports of other people getting in with "crappy" websites. It seems like they're very open to whom they let in so long as you are part of the "press" in one aspect.

I've been wanting to go to E3 for about 4 years now so I'm excited to go.
