That actually won Most Innovative Product at CES 2009. It's called the Psyko 5.1 headset. All of the speakers are actually in the headband. It's pretty clever actually.

I have to disagree. I have not heard them myself, yet I know someone who had bought a pair. I called him up tonight and asked him about them. He said he was unaware that there were speakers in the headband when he purchased them. After he tried them for a day, he said that they sounded horrible. Whoever decided to create them must of been on drugs. We don't have ears all the way around our head. My friend stated that because there are speakers in the headband it overextends the sound. Making it distort. He said he tried lowering the volume and it did not help. The speakers, the way they are placed actually diffuse each other making the headset sound overbearing even at it's lowest volume. He also went on to say that because there are speakers in the headband it actually rattles off your head and he was constantly having to readjust them to make them sit squarely on his head. He also said that they are very heavy because of all the speakers and that the earcups hurt his ears after only 10 minutes of wearing them. He said after one day he sent them back and they asked him why he wanted a refund. He said that he told them that they were the worst headset he had ever listened to and that the design team should be screened for drugs.

To me they look ridiculous. I would never own a pair for fear of being laughed at.

Cheers...
