I don't know exactly what kind of metal the astro stand is made out of(I'm assuming aluminum), but the price is about right for that. It's pretty much one of the cheapest headphone stands you can get besides a DIY.

Here are some other headphone stands that are much more expensive than Astro's

30 dollars as well, but doesn't look nearly as good as Astro's

Sorry for the large image, but 60 dollars for the single and 75 for the double. Though these are fantastic and worth the price as well IMO. I like the adjustable height and the wide top that makes it so it causes as little pressure/stress on the bridge of your headphones as possible.

95 dollars

180 dollars

But you can always DIY. Here is a popular thread on head-fi discussing it.

Hey,

The main reason for it being so expensive is due to it being made out of Solid Aluminum, you pay for quality.

I just hammered a metal rod on my wall and called it a day.

I'm actually looking for a head mannequin. Maybe I'll find some luck forraging the back of a department store.

HERE (http://www.headphonesolutions.com/headphone-stand.html) is a stand for $19. I think it clips to a shelf or something.

Cheers...

Comes standard with a lot of Sennheiser headphones. It does its purpose well enough, has a nice wide curved bridge to have barely any stress on the headband of a headphone, but the buzzkill for me is that A. you are limited in where you can put the headphones because it is clip on, and B. there's nothing to do with the wires, they just dangle and look messy.

If I don't like how my DIY stand turns out, I'll probably get the woo audio stand or astro headphone stand for whatever pair I feel like using that day/week, then for the rest of my headphones and headsets, I'll just store them in these
