I was wondering whether anyone use their Astros for DJ'ing and if so what do you think of it? I'm about to buy Pioneers for my setup but if the there's no difference in quality I won't.

I've tried it when messing around with my friends DM-57 RANE mixer its really cool how ASTRO includes the 1/4" Adapter to plug into the jack, I do like how you can twist the one ear so you can use that side to hear the monitor, only downside i would say is that the A40 is an open air headset and noise from the outside does leak in so sometimes I would have trouble beat matching.

Thnxs. I wasn't sure if there were any gamers that DJ'd with the lack of responses I got.

yeah if the a40 had more sound dampening or had noise reduction that would be sick. cuz sometimes i listen to the a40s really loud while people are talking or watching tv in the same big room we have for our tv and computer. needless to say people are always in there and noise reduction would be perfect for my situation and DJ-ing!

It's hard to keep a set of A40's on your head with one cup off as is with many headphones that don't have an upswivel feature but the sound quality is great. I use mine for home mixing my guitar recordings.

A bit late of a reply, but me too :D
Also, don't forget that they come with the foam inserts to deaden the outside sound as well. I always play with them off though, when I have them in I can't hear the wife calling my name which equals trouble.:eek::p:D

Oh! So that's why my wife keeps getting mad at me! LOL.
All this time I thought it was for dampening the sound that escapes from the headset. Didn't realize it would help me hear things going on in the room! hahaha. Thanks, you may have just saved my marriage. =P

Sometimes that's not a good thing...but you're welcome! :D:D

The astros are not DJ headphones at all. Open design, and bass lean.
They are hybrid, but you can get some that block more both ways.
