Hey,

I hear static when I plug the talk cable into my Wired Controller, the static doesn't happen on my Wireless controller and the Wired Controller has only had the Astro headset in it.
So is this a problem with the talk back cable or my Wired Controller?

If the problem is only happening on your Wired Controller then I would say it is a fault with that.

So if I buy a new Controller it would fix it?

I can't say for sure. Although why do you play with a Wired Controller.

There is no difference over the Wireless other than it uses a Wire. Also it has a major fault with the Mic Port which causes buttons to be pressed when someone shouts into the Mic.

Well I play with the Wired Controller because it doesn't take battery's and the Wireless Controller is more
heavy.

i hope the heavy doesnt really make a difference lol... but either way, i recommend buying a new controller (wireless) and buy some rechargable batteries

Ok,I guess thats what i'll do I wanted to by a Optic Cable but I guess that will have to wait.
So will the Xbox360 Wireless Controller and the Plug in Play kit work?

Optical cables can be pretty cheap. Check monoprice.com.

It is really hell disturbing to have problem with wired controller and talk cable. But this is a usual problem occurring with the Astro a40, I think. I read that the static doesn’t come with your wireless controller. That’s why I think that the problem lies with your wired controller. If you replace your faulty wired controller with a good one, it will help you to resolve this problem. If not it is good to consult an experienced person.
