Going to order one for my Girlfriend in the next month to replace her Skullcandys.

Also will you make one of them mobile cords for the A40's?

I also posted this about a couple of hours ago here in the same forum (http://forums.astrogaming.com/showthread.php?t=1419) :D So delete mine as a double post is a waste :)

The QD cords are interchangable with the A40s and A30s, so if you get the A30s for your girlfriend, you can swipe her mobile cord. =P Hopefully we'll start offering just the mobile cord on the site soon. Just tried it with a friend's iphone (my iPod touch is a 1st Gen and doesn't work with the multifunction button), and it worked great. One click play/stop, or answer/drop call. Two clicks next song, three clicks, rewind or previous song. Now I REALLY want the iPhone on Verizon or perhaps I'll have to settle for a Droid.

She would need it for her iPhone

Although as soon as they come on I will purchase one separate. Also you should get a iPhone. I have been happy with my 3GS, over Blackberrys, T-Mobile Android etc.

I currently have the a40 and the mixamp. Can I buy the a30 headset and use it with my current mixamp?

Yeap, the A30 headphones are fully compatible with either the 2010 MixAmp, or the older MixAmp designs.

I see more and more people in public with large style headphones(mostly from skullcandy >_> ), so it is a pretty cool feature with the additional inline microphone. A lot of people use the iPhone(and I believe blackberry's also have the same 4-pole 3.5mm jack design for headsets, but I could be wrong here. The iPhone has been streamlined to listen to music and take calls seamlessly, and a lot of headsets are aiming to aid that, though the only headsets I've seen so far displaying this are IEM headsets.

One of the things I'd be interested in seeing in the future in respect to this headset is possible additional adapters. One of the biggest universal headsets I've used, the Razer Moray+(an IEM headset) has the astro 4-pole design, so it is able to be used with the astro mixamp/iphone, and it also comes with a 4-pole to 2 3.5mm adapter so you can use it with the PC, and it comes with an adapter for the nintendo DS and Sony PSP. Maybe in the future astro can release an adapter pack with those 3 things. Might be neat.

Great. the A30s come out right when i was about to order the A40s. Now I have no idea which ones to get. I game alot but would like to use them on my iPod and future iPhone. And my computer too.

Listing all of these, makes me think i should just get the A40s. :D

Well if you imagine that you will be using them on-the-go a lot then go with the A30's, the A40's are strictly for inside use ;) I love my A40's though and would still highly recommend them to anyone looking for a dedicated gaming headset. I generally use earbuds when going outside (they're less obtrusive). I'm pretty sure all A40 owners wished at some point they could hop outside with them on and not look like Optimus Prime (as a friend said).

I'm definitely interested to find out how these feel since it's a new, on-ear design (rather than over-ear). The A40 is the most comfortable headset I've ever worn so I'm a little concerned with how the on-ear design and if it will be comfortable for long gaming sessions

Hm. I understand. I think I might just get the A40s first then get the A30s later on. Maybe around Christmas time. If anyone has them, tell me how they feel.

Curious at to what comes in the box with the A30 headset package. I already own the A40s w/ mixamp, with all of the cables it originally came with two years ago. Does the A30 headset come with all of the cables, including PS3 adapter, or is it the same cabling package that orginally came with the A40 mixamp setup, or is it just the headset?

Love your products BTW. Love the look and smaller weight and profile of the A30s.

The A30s come with a semi-heavy duty carrying case. Inside them are the A30 headphones, and 3 cable options. The standard 1.5 meter QD (Quick Disconnect) cable, one 1.5 meter PC capable cable which has two 3.5mm male jacks for the mic and for sound (this also has an in-line volume level), and the 0.5 meter Mobile cable with a multi-function button that works with iPhones/Blackberrys 4-pole adaptors.

In a smaller box will be the two standard A30 tags (much like how the A40s shipped).

There's no PS3 adaptor, nor y-adaptor cable included, as those are accessories that work with the MixAmp.

Would these be good to use with Turntables, like a Numark ns7 or v7. I'm a room dj, for now, and would like something with great sound and not too expensive, also I'm an Astro fan. =)

Just a quick question about the a30's. If you don't want to use the boom mic, i understand that there is an in-line mic on the wire coming from the headphones themselves. Is it possible to use the in-line mic when gaming on xbox or, for gaming chat, is the only option the boom mic?

If it is possible to use the in-line instead of the boom for gaming chat, what kind of wire configuration would be necessary to make it work?

Hey icandigthat,

Yes, the in-line mic can be used for regular game chat, though it's a smaller 4mm microphone (instead of the boom mic's 6mm mic). Both are omni-directional mics. The in-line mic is built into the QD adaptor that's found on the A30s, so if you were using it with the MixAmp and the Xbox, it would plug in via the 4-pole QD cable into the MixAmp, and you'll also need the 2.5mm controller cable going from the MixAmp to the Controller.

Thanks, that's exactly the the answer i needed. Stoked to give em a try and finally hear my friends on LIVE.

BTW, are you guys gonna start selling replacement boom mic's for the a30's anytime soon?

Believe you meant to say this: The boom mic on the A30 is uni-directional and the QD mic is omni-directional (at least that is what the headset comparison says)

Check the store on Monday, (As Stanimal said there would be a update) although I don't know if will include the A30's or not.

Although you can still import them from the US Store, which I may do if they do not stock them.

the a30's are the happiest ive been since the first time i wore a40's.

awesome product, highly reccomended.

first thing that stands out is the comfort. more comfortable than any headset, even comfier than the sennheiser 555's. some of you may think this is impossible, which i realize.

second thing is how compact these mothers are. perfect size, and way better for travel.

third thing is the compatability. ive used them listening to music, gaming on some n64, and then on xbl. the new microphone is dirtyyyyy.

thanks guys.

Only issue I have with the A30 is the headband is not long enough. I have it pulled out to the max and it barely fits over my ears.
