I doubt I'll be topped on this one but thats why I'm posting. So I can find out if I'm all alone in my nerdiness.
Today I got it in my head that taking my Astro A40's to work would be an excellent idea (I work at the Outback Steakhouse as a line cook). Suffice to say hearing calls was somewhat difficult over the amazing sound that was blasting in my ears. Listening to my Ipod has never been more fun and despite probably looking like a complete tool I enjoyed myself quite a bit regardless of how my friends from work took shots at how the 80's called and wanted their headset back. If only they knew how badass these are for games. So moral of the story if people are laughing at you and you can't hear them is it still embarrassing..... I'd like to think it didn't :D

Uhm, I just got back into the Pokémon games? I'm gonna buy 'em all off eBay since I lost mine. :( Hhaa, nerdy enough? (Just bought my DS too, AND I use my Astros for them! :D)

Hrm... So let me count the ways I was pretty nerdy growing up:
1. Collected Comic Books for... 10 years, and even WORKED at a comic book store in High School. =P
2. Collected and played CCG's like Magic, Star Wars, and even a Comic book one...
3. Program a whole working version of "LORD (Legend of the Red Dragon, a old BBS game), on a HP TI-83 calculator in written in BASIC.
4. Made my own Fantasy/Comic Book based board game in 3rd grade with friends.
So most of these was when I was younger... then there was the incident about 2 years ago, as a 27 year old, when I bought one of those Force FX Lightsabers from Walmart (it was a good deal though, for only $30! LOL)

You gotta show us a picture of you wearing the headsets WITH your Outback Steakhouse apron.... lol Maybe carry a spatula and pose next to the stove? Way to promote those Astros! lol

We're all nerds if we're willing to buy a freaking expensive (yet awesome) headset for our hardcore gaming needs.
However, unlike you nerds, I love to play Dungeons & Dragons and Shadowrun with pencil, paper, and dice! Old school RPGs FTW!

Consider me the jack of all things geeky.
Between video games, comic books, sci-fi, tech love, overclocking, modding, and then some.
I'm lovin' it.

I'm a very bizarre mix:
Neerdy (IMHO) - Collected and traded comics. Speak fluent computereez. Wear giant purple AD700's with a big boom mic while gaming. I'm a gamer and I turn 43 in a month. LOVE electronic gadgets of all types. Can hookup any audio/video system in no time flat. Can program the clock on any DVD/VCR/Hotel Clock Radio in no time flat. :) Collect plastic playing cards. I'm sure there's more.
Not So Neerdy (IMHO) - Have owned several motorcycles the last of which was a BMW R1100S. Currently Drive a Dodge Charger with the Road & Track Package. Certified Scuba Diver. Play Texas Hold'em (yes for real money). Involved in competitive pistol shooting using my Ruger .22 and Two 1911 .45ACP's and currently ranked as a "sharp shooter" by the NRA for outdoor conventional pistol.

I like how Astropin brought in the "Not so Nerdy" element.
I'm a self-professed nerd as mentioned before (and damn proud of it), but by meeting me, you probably wouldn't know it.
Here are factors why I'm not seemingly nerdy:
1. Retired Break Dancer: break danced for a good decade, competing in Tokyo and performing in the Bay Area. Only stopped recently because of my 2nd reason...
2. Basketball Player: great way to stay in shape and fellowship with some awesome folks.
3. Married to a Non-Nerd: she still doesn't understand why I love gaming so much. She's my balance in terms of going out, socializing, staying in touch with loved ones, and preventing me from becoming nerdier (God knows how much I want to play WoW, MtG, etc. but not good if I want to say married!)
4. Meat Head Wannabe: I go to the weight room 4 times a week - I love staying in shape and connecting with those who share that passion and are disciplined to maintain/improve their health.
5. Cat Lover: okay, that has nothing to do with being non-nerdy... or even manly... but yah, I love cats!

Well I was finally topped. Sorry to call you out on this but break dance has been nerdy ever since I saw Zoolander in that awesome break dance fighting scene!

Errr... okay.
Maybe you weren't born/grew up in the 1980's.... if you understood the culture and history of genuine break dancing, you would not associate the dance to any form of nerdiness. But yes, that movie was hilarious.
I suggest you watch Planet B-Boy. It's an excellent rental.

This is great, I'm new here so this will give you guys a bit of insight on me....
How I am nerdy:
- I have a reptile obsession. I own a couple giant snakes (an 8ft. Burmese, she's only 3 yrs. and 3 Reticulated pythons)
- I just bought my 2nd pair of $300 gaming headsets (I won my first at MLG Columbus then sold them for quite a bit more then they cost, cause they were signed by Str8 Rippin, because I'm not a fan of Halo)
- I play video games A LOT, and even attend MLG events with my team
- I have a life sized Gears of War Lancer
- I own a set of COD night vision goggles
- I have hacked my Motorola Droid numerous times just to take it back to stock, only to do it again a day or so later looking for new ways to modify certain files
Reasons I counteract the nerdiness:
- I'm 6'9" and 230 lbs. far from a nerds body I suppose
- I played semi pro football
- I'm a state certified firefighter
- I was a United States Army Airborne Ranger for 2 yrs.
- I own my own aftermarket auto parts business (check out our site www.darkstartuning.com but please excuse the construction as I'm having a bit of a hard time with the CSS)
- I am actually married with 2 kids
- I build fast cars :D Note: I'm really looking forward to using my Astro's with a knock sensor system I have put together used for tuning cars!!!
- I do tattoo's, I have done artwork for several friends as well as a couple of my own.

Impressive list of nerdiness I must say. I think it's an interesting dichotomy that playing semi-pro football is "couteractive" for nerdiness while MLG play isn't. Both require you to be top of your game whether it's with pigskin or controller yet both yield very different reactions when you tell certain people about it. :D
Another thing I wanted to address is HOLY COW YOUR 6 foot 9??!?!!! Thats amazing must be an awkward fit for holding the controller in those man hands amirite?

off the top of my head from way back when... collected pokemon cards! was hard core into yugioh and ranked 53 at regional...openly talked about WoW and now my new obession up to date MW2-ing it up hardcore....every action movie with guns reminds me of mw2 lol or i'd have to guess what kind of gun the person is using. of course this is off the top of my head.
this is aside from being obsessed on cars

Lol, It really does make a difference when you are talking to people. "Oh yeah my team and I are in the MLG" Their first response: "What's MLG?" Second response "Are you serious...nerd"
But as soon as they find out I play semi-pro and am very active at approaching pro teams they go into WOW mode.
Lol and yes I am 6'9". The controller used to be horrible after extended periods of times. My hands and fingers would cramp so much, but I just had to bare through it. But I just recently invested in a pair of Kontrol Freek, FPS Freeks, and let me tell you these are possibly one of the best gaming related purchases I have ever made (aside from my Astros!!!). I can now turn my sensitivity to high and not have my screen go crazy when I try to aim. They make a big difference in MW2 and Gears2. And best of all, no cramping. If you don't have them get them. You will not be disappointed. You can't go wrong for only $9.99
