Hey everyone,
I wanted to see if anyone had any insight about this game that I didn't know or possibly some legitimate leveling strategies we could exchange. General discussion is welcome.

Good to start a MW2 thread. I'm trying to get back into playing this game, after all the glitches have finally been addressed and patched (though I did join a random "speed hack" game just a few days ago, blah).
Anyways, here's a quick post about the new "Stimulus Map Pack #1" set to release this Spring (exclusively on the Xbox 360 for 2 weeks!). Oooo, just finally viewing the video now (after posting about it). Crash and Overgrown return from COD4!!!! Awesome stuff. Also a new map called Complex (looks similar to the office map from COD4), a new "ice" map called Compact (wonder if it's a small map...), a map called Storm (looks like a warehouse in the picture). So 4 "new-ish" maps for MW2 coming soon.

Won't say much now, on my phone, I'll come back and chat after uni but there's still crap going on with the game, but it's still worth it. Quick thing, I find a speedy playing style very effective.

I always seem to be alone in my hatred for MW2. As far as tips for leveling, stick to things like care package and emergency airdrop because if you give them away to teammates you are literally bombarded with points. Also play the money maker game modes like Dom and Search and Destroy. 1000 points for a headshot is muey caliente. I'll play MW2 when those maps are released but until then its BC2 all day baby.

I dislike the game, but still play it due to friends playing it. But, now that Bad Company 2 has come out, they're starting to switch over.. but most of them are still playing it.. :(
I as well will play MW2 when the maps come out, but, probably not for that long. It's just.. all the glitches, they annoy me. Even if most of them were fixed.. still. I feel that Infinity Ward did a horrible job in the release of their game. I mean, besides their 500 million $ revenue from it of course. I loved the Campaign, but the multiplayer was lacking it for me. It just doesn't compare to Halo in my opinion. I like a game that takes a lot of team work etc. Modern Warfare / World at War / MW2 feel to me as just needing a quick trigger finger and a good connection.
I still play it occassionally. But won't be playing it much at all anymore. I have some Nintendo DS to play after all! As well as Bad Company 2 and Splinter Cell when that releases. I can't wait for Pokémon Heart Gold and Soul Silver release. :D I just got back into those games.. :P
As for sharing a good leveling strategy.. Ground War can be good, Team DM as well / Hardcore S&D as others stated if you're good in that playlist.
Anyone else not appreciating MW2 much like Shadow and I?
level 1-29 i play Headquarters Pro, 29-70 i play Search and Destroy. lvl 70, i get fall on my 2 favorite guns and then do Gamebattles.

Yeah the game pisses me off too. I Love the game itself and what they did to it option wise. I just hate how laggy the game is. There have been many times where I have been in a HC SnD room with the rest of my clan (well some of them) and Id see a guy so I would shoot him. Put half a clip into this guy and get no hit marker and have him turn around and pop me once. IN HARDCORE! I also heard IW fired alot of their people because the game was released like that. They are trying to fix it but I think its too late. There are sooooo many fake 10th prestiges its unreal. It makes me and my friends think why even bother. I only know 2 REAL tenth Prestiges and me Im an 8th about half way through. I just wanna hit 10th and quit lol. I have also been playin BC2. It seems really fun just a bit hard because nobody I know really has the game. Just a couple of us so its hard to get into matches with my friends

Well, the glitches that affect the game are mostly settled (except for your guns popping through a wall now and then when you're hiding), and I don't really care about the 10th prestige cheaters, they can waste their money if they want. But what I've decided is the best way to actually play the multiplayer is HC search for levels and once you get the perks and weapons you want, domination til you get them. I got ninja last night and within three games had ninja pro using this method.
And as for the lag problems, yes you need to have a good connection and you need to have a quick trigger finger, but tactics are key if you play any real opponent. Also not getting noob tubed off the break helps.

yeah zir. new map pack coming up, and its big. man i`m lvl 66 on my 5th prestige and this is the greatest game ever made. i dont play anything else but own a lot of popular games. i think i buy`em just cuz. i have not even play some of them. well i love this game and i`m glad they taking the time to patch and fix some of the glitches in the game.
so my tip for ranking up quik for the most part is hunting for kills, i get an average of 20 kills per game. camping is for @#$% but dont get me wrong, there is a difference between camping and holding ground. if you hide around waiting for somebody to run by to get a kill, now thats camping but if your team is holding ground on a side of the map or certain spot. then that is another story, and to tell you the truth. it takes skills to hold ground and also to take over ground or push the other team out of their headquaters.
so now that i got that out of the way. how about classes? how do you setup your classes?

thats my main class, but other than that i also have runners class, a stoping power class for regular. the rest are just variants of the main tree that i use.

But I try not to use that because it's way too easy lol (I know that sounds ****y as hell but it takes the fun out of the game for people and I don't like people who do that. Also nuke is turned off.)
Anyway, I like to try to use fun guns! Like the M16 is pretty easy, but I have really been enjoying the TAR lately!

Killstreaks are Predator, Attack Chopper, AC -130
Reasons for those are they are fun. I like predators because they're really funny sometimes if you make it in a window and kill their whole team or something. Attack Chopper has never gotten me more than 4 kills lol... but I use it because I need the prestige challenge done. AC 130 is not as good as the Chopper on average, but I think it is SO much fun that I much prefer it.

I dont about the m16.. I much prefer the FAMAS over this gun.. Sometimes it might take a few burst to kill someone with the M16 to where the FAMAS can kill someone in a single without stopping power.. I do like the tar though.. tar with a silence is pretty cool.. the fall camo on the looks so clean.. I used the FAL the other day and found it to be a pretty good gun also.. its just hard to run and gun with it only spitting out one bullet at a time..

doesn't the M16 cause more damage than the FAMAS....lately after getting the FPS freaks my aim has been all outta whack, but I tried playing with the M16 again and suprisingly I didn't so bad (not that i'm that good anyway)...but I was averaging around 14 kills...
means you will be getting better :) keep using them and dont stop using them and once you get used to them youu will be MLG FRAGGIN LIKE A PRO!!!! lol.
FAMAS is stronger if all 3 bullets hit, m16 is just more accurate. (unless you have good aim)
I personally think i could take alot of people with me using FAMAS and them using m16

clearly I dont have good aim...hahahahaha....but I didn't know that that FAMAS was stronger in that sense...are those charts in the game useless??
I keep hearing that the ACR is good, but I cannot seem to get enough kills, takes them forever to go down...im sure that has to do with my aim too....ugh
lol, just keep using the kontrol freeks and ur aim will get better, acr is very good, i seem to have no problem getting 20+ kills a game with cold blooded/silencer on it lol, try using

9 TO 5 is my every day one (hence the name)...i also change the primary depending on how i'm playing. I AM LOVING THE M1014 can't get enough of it...unlocked it yeseterday and it's a beast
I suck at the Sniper rifle, but I wanna start playing with it...maybe when my quick aim improves (as I hate sitting around waiting for people to come to me)

M16 is more powerful. Also, FAMAS is a french gun... can't even do it... (kind of kidding).
Anyway, I use the normal sensitivity and the ACR is all about hitting them first. It is HIGHLY unlikely they'll shoot you if you hit them first with the ACR.

I think the FAMAS and M16 have the same damage output. The FAMAS 3 bullet spray fires slightly faster (the ability to pull each trigger), but the spray is a little bit increased. The M16 has a little bit more delay in the 3 bullet spray times than the FAMAS, but it's a little more accurate at long range.
I still really love the SCAR+silencer, Scavenger, Stopping Power, and Ninja Pro.
Typically I stay pretty stealthy and/or will try and run around the enemy and flank, so I end up picking off a lot of enemies and moving to a new position, pick off a few more, etc. I think my #2 Accolade is still "Least Amount of Deaths".

most of my perks are pro except stuff i don't really use like the stuff not listed there. Some things like scrambler that aren't listed are pro from when I first started but I got rid of it when I realized how bad it was.
as for kill streaks, normally, UAV, predator and harrier sometimes care package, harrier and pave low or a mix of those setups.

Moldy, if you haven't prestiged yet, I would certainly recommend you do it before you work too hard on anymore guns. If you prestige then your kills with them stay recorded for future prestiges, if you don't prestige, and you eventually decide you want to, then you lose everything =/

Moldy, if you haven't prestiged yet, I would certainly recommend you do it before you work too hard on anymore guns. If you prestige then your kills with them stay recorded for future prestiges, if you don't prestige, and you eventually decide you want to, then you lose everything =/
i prestiged my brother twice, i made my own name i dont intend on prestiging at all, imo i dont think the extra classes are needed to win, but skills on the guns that are being used :) thanks for the heads up though.:p(watch me prestige just for the hell of it one day and eat those words lol)
5 classes is good enough for me just need a atk, anti-air,snipe class.

Haha.. this is so true.. if they have to justify ALL their losses by saying we are scared to prestige.. if prestiging doesnt help you win games.. then why do it? They prestige like 5 times and lose like every single game is pretty pointless IMO.. and i dont know about everyone else but doing the same junk over and over again to make a few extra classes and get some new titles is hardly worth my time.. if they gave me an extra bullet every time i prestige.. then hell yeah i'd be all for it.. haha.. but yeah it doesnt really matter what prestige you are.. its either youre good enough to win with what you got or youre not.. take your losses with a grain of salt.. and come to think of it.. when was the last time you EVER saw a level 70 prestige 10 at the top of of the scoreboard?

Another MW2 questions:...So i realized that some of my team mates when the game is over see the stats a few seconds before I do....any ideas as to why this is happening? Does this mean I have lag time even in my game play?

when the game is over u can press the back button for 360/stat button to see the stats and i think its the select button for the ps3

its not just that, whenever a person from my team leaves, everyone else sees him leaving...after a few seconds I seem him leaving....not sure if its my PS3 settings...anyone have any insight??

The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
Shamefully if you game is "Laggy" and you are not seeing it right, it is normally either a bad Download, Upload or Ping or some kind of mix of all three.
You also need to make sure you are Wired. To be fair Wireless is okay but only ups your latency unless you use a Wireless N Router and at the moment only the Xbox 360 support Wireless N.
The only other suggestion to do is swap your ISP. Make sure you get one with a decent download and upload and a decent ping. The lower the better (Mine is around 12ms)

I am wired, maybe the ISP swap is the way to go. Ill get the numbers from my settings and post them...
On a sep note I change one of my classes a bit and my sensitivity setting and I ended up get 20+ kills in all my games yesterday...hmmmmmm...lol
CLASS 9 to 5:
Primary - SCAR-H w/silencer
Secondary - M1014 w/red dot
Perk 1: Marathon
Perk 2: Stopping Power
Perk 3: Ninja Pro
Sensitivity Setting: 3
Before I had the red dot on the SCAR-H and was using Scavenger. I realized I was sitting around too much and getting capped from all sides, also realized that my reaction time was a little too slow on the turn around and realized seeing that I do get killed quite a bit right now I didn't need scavenger....with Marathon pro I get to run around like a mad man and it seems to be working out well for now. Changed the sensitivity up by one and that has made some impact on setting up for the next shot...also I have gotten used to the iron sights and don't need the red dot anymore....lets see how I fair over the weekend

well im not much of a camper anyway...hate that style of play its just no fun...however, there would be times I'd get thrown into a game and I have no idea where anyone was and then next thing i know...bang, dead from behind :tear:...now I get thrown in and I run....LMAO

I love being silent running up some stairs while the enemies focused somewhere else, then knifing 3 of them in the back. =P
Oh, the setup I usually use for Killstreaks for this are: UAV, Counter-UAV, Predator.

LOL, I love running around and knifing (minus commando, those teleporters are just cheap, heh).

thats the same class i have now...i started using that class yesterday and loving in love with the UMP+Silencer

I find that most of the time, they have commando on so I put it on too. That way if someone shoots at you then you can zig zag and still knife them lol

ninja pro is the way to go...i cant stand hearing my own footsteps..let alone if you have astros on it just beats the whole purpose imo...i know trittons makes my feet sounds like i got bricks for shoes lol

Yea, you're very loud, but it's still much more balanced for knifing.
Got my D-Eagle tactical knife yesterday, marathon lightweight and commando... extremely fun knifing people

everyone made a huge deal about the 1887 being overpowered, but seriously what about Commando Pro?? I'm sorry but that is something they need to patch...the range on that attack is absurd and then add a tactical knife and who needs a gun....

yeah i hate the commando perk but i dont think theyre gonna patch it lol

I don't believe Tactical knife and Commando Pro stack, though you could use your "Commando" lunge with your UMP in most situations, then switch to your tactical knife when you see more than one enemy. ;)

Hrm, well in all my testing with Commando and the Tactical knife, I've never been able to lunge as far as with a primary weapon and Commando. Anyone had a different experience?
BTW: The one time I would use Commando and piss everyone off was when there was still the "Care Package Movement Speed" glitch. =P Now THAT was awesome. You moved WAY faster than everyone else (with Lightweight, it stacked), then the Commando teleport/lunge was insane.

my commando makes me lunge pretty far, but fails at times. i hate those care package knife runners...... fml..... haha

this i use to do this alot until it got patched but now slowly getting back into my SMGs...good times..good times ;)

A little off the current topic, but I was playing a bit of FFA today and noticed 4 people in the game that caught my eye, each with PRO x ______ as their names.
If I could remember them I'd call them out, however I cannot so I'll just tell you the irony.
These self-proclaimed "pro"s decided that they were so good, that they would 4 person boost, 2 of them patrolling while the last two tried their arses off to get nukes.
I'm happy to report that I successfully administered booster justice to each and every one of them :)
However the irony was too much for them and they left. I'm sure that had nothing to do with the fact that I let them get 10 kills before I killed them mwahahahahahaha. I ended up winning too, how's that for booster justice?
