So I was about to order some astros today and noticed they wont ship till the 8th anyone know anything about this if it is an update to the hardware or something?

It ships out from San Francisco, so I would imagine it only takes 1-2 days to Vegas.

Sorry, didn't see this question. The A40 headsets are all the same packaging. If you buy something like the CTS, Upper Playground, MLG, or Metal Gear Solid editions, well they just have the speaker tags that come in a separate box.
The A40 headphones are currently in stock and available to order, but if you're needing to purchase the MixAmp (to connect the A40 headphones to the Xbox, PS3, or PC for the Dolby Headphone technology), well that's out of stock until this Monday, March 8th.

No, you would unfortunately have to pay for the shipping at the time you placed the order for the Y-Adaptor. The MixAmp is actually currently out of stock as well (and expected to be back in stock on March 8th), so you would really only be waiting another 7 days for the Y-Adaptor.

Why did they tell me they were shipping out on the 5th then? It sounds like they had a recall or something. Maybe the old ones were failing and so they pulled them. Or, are they really selling that many that they can't even keep supplies stocked? That can't be right. I just happened to stumble across this site by mere chance. Unless I had not read a review on the X41's I would never had known about Astro. Sounds like the marketing department is falling short. uh ohhhh........ Thank goodness I didn't pay for overnight shipping or I would have been seriously out the money. I sure hope on the 9th I get an email with a tracking number in it.

To answer your concerns, it's simply customs delays that are holding things back. Trust me when I say we're frustrated beyond belief.
Things are progressing for an April 9th shipment of all orders.

Im a little frustrated that they didnt ship on the 5th like stated however i thought that maybe they would have sent an email saying that there is a delay and will be going out on the 9th now. I guess maybe my view of customer service is a bit different but i understand things happen but coming from somebody in the customer service industry keeping your paying customers in the loop as to what is going on can solve a lot of the headaches when problems arise. I also like how they charge your card the second you place the order but they dont ship for a week and a half later. OH well i guess im just venting right now as ive been really saving hard to get them and now that i have the money and order i have to wait longer.

how about having a broken mic, and clan tryouts on Wednesday so i got the 3rd day shipping on my headsets, which is now pointless.

Yea 3-day shipping is pricy and hey i think you will get your money back if you dont get it in 3 days.

The orders usually ship out in the afternoon (when it gets delivered to UPS). At that point, the numbers are all crunched, then shortly after, between 6pm-8pm (Pacific), the shipping notification emails are sent out with the tracking numbers. Be on the look out tonight! =)

acording to the a40 page it now says expected to ship week of 4/12. If this is being postponed again im cancelling my order. Im sick of waiting and the worst part is they take the money and then is it and wait. Im dont playing this game. Ill go play with the x41's or something instead. This is rediculous.

It's not about being impatient, it's the fact that people get mad because the money has already been taken out of their accounts or charged to their credit cards. Not only that some people actually got 3 day shipping or the all important next day shipping.

I too have been waiting since 3/27... The waiting sucks, but the fact that no one from the company contacts you to let you know the shipping is delayed. If I had not checked the product page I would've never known there was a delay to 4/9 or now 'expected week of 4/1
Funny thing is I have claim in, and my rep didn't even bother to send me a heads up. Held up in customs? Is that what's really going on? Or is there something else we don't know about?

There's no hidden agenda going on, the MixAmp to be restocked are held up by the US Custom's agency.
Every order that's been delayed should have been sent out this following email. Perhaps it's sitting in your spam folder or you mistakenly deleted it.

i'm not hard up for cash so it really doesnt bother me that they take the money upfront..
if it is so painful to your wallet that they take your money and havent sent the item yet, maybe you shouldnt be buying $250+ headsets?
i do however, feel like astro should do something to boost the customer morale a bit, maybe a free, or discounted set of tags, to boot for the double delay...

Being a customer service pro, I happen to agree. A token of gratitude for great customers is great customer service. I realize, myself, that the delays are not Astro's fault. Well I would hope not anyways... I myself would appreciate full disclosure on exactly why they are "stuck in customs" but would settle for some customs tags for free as well.

I wouldn't mind getting a set of custom tags for free either :D. Remember it's better to lose $25.00 for each customer than to have to refund $250.00+ for unhappy customer returns.

agreed, even a 25% discount on any item excluding a headset/MixAmp/Audio system would be nice(im specifically looking at the Blackbird mount for my wall)

I would just like to hear how the mixamp situation is going... I'm not too worried about free stuff or making it up to the customer even though it would be nice, I just would like to hear how it is coming, i've been reading for the last few days and there is a fair amount of people who are just kind of being left in the dark. Anyways, any new information would be great, thanks guys.

I've had dealings with US Customs on several occasions when I would overnight a part from over seas for a computer build. Usually US Customs take about 12 to 16 days. Which in our case is about on cue, as I ordered mine on 3/31/2010. So real soon here I'm guessing we'll see some shipments go out. Don't hold me to that but that's just been my past experience with Customs.

I sent an email to astro support and they said since it is the US customs holding it up its not their fault so there is nothing in there policy to compensate the paying customer.

yea. its really not astros fault that customs is f-ing it up. i think everyone needs to cut them a tiny bit of slack, but not too much ;)

I just looked and the red flag for the black A40 headset is still there.
Seems that for the headset alone there is still a flag. There is no flag for the Complete Audio Systems though.
