Users with audiophile headphones + mixamp

Hope this is the right place to post this, but who else in here uses seperate headphones (high end or not) with their Astro mixamp?

I currently use an Audio Technica AD700 with a Zalman clip-on mic. By itself these headphones are awesome for a lot of music genres, movies, and gaming. But paired with an Astro mixamp, I was in awe.

I have the same exact heaphones (ath-ad700) and same exact mic. Im looking for a more sensitive mic, as i feel the zalman doesnt pick up my voice well enough(i have to hold it right infront of my mouth), and first time i played with my bro he said i sounded gay :(

my friends said they can hear me through my zalman just fine. But I would imagine having a mic right in front of your mouth (like the stock XBL one) would pick up sound easier.

I have the same setup....except I use the Labtec LAV 7330's. They work GREAT!

Bonus.....they do not pick up other sounds in the room.....but they sure pick up my voice.

I think i found a pretty good contender for the other mic "mods", Olympus ME15. It works great compared to zalman clip on mic, and you dont need to connect the mic to the mixamp, it works well when connected straight to the controller with 3,5 female/2.5 male adapter (Zalman doesnt work at all when connected to the controller, and when connected to mixamp you have to hold it infron of your mouth to get any voice out, and it's bad quality voice) This olympus, just clip it to the front of you shirt and plug it in the controller and there you go :)

I'm about ready to get this setup done, AD700 with 7330s. I was wondering, could you tell me what cable/wire I need to get those two connected to the MixAmp? Are they both the regular 3.5mm plugs?

Yeah it would go through the included Y-Adapter.
