Hi all
2 days of charging and always blinking orange. Is it normal ??
When i start the system without usb power, the system stop. It seems that the battery don't take charge.
I think the battery is out of order.
i was told form support that it can take up to 72 hours. this may be me but that seems a lil long for that. 4 dbl A battery usually only take 12 hours.

The battery is now in charge since 72H and always blinks orange.
I send request to Astro support and waiting for response now but i really think that this battery is out of order

well, noah told me that it took me awhile because i had my mixamp connected to a usb power hub that decreases power transfer so thats why its taking forever. so imma wait a week or so and see what happens if not somethings wrong with the battery pack.

Hey John,
Is your mixamp working good when USB power is disconnect ??
When i disconnect it and put mixamp on, it blinks red then for 10 secondes and stops.
So i don't think that the problem is my USB hub that not delivers enough power but the battery that doesn't keep charge.
No response from support yet.
I have a question for ASTRO Stanimal. hope you can answer this for me. itll prolly be a support question though lol . what is the voltage or the power that the mixamp pulls from the batteries plus. I am going to be getting a the audio system later this week if i can find out these answers heh. when charging the rechargable batteries for when i first get them, should i charge the batteries b4 i use them or play til they run out then charge up all the way. ( i guess IM asking if they are precharged) and also to know what and where i should plug them up, how many volts or amps does it take to get in a good charge like if i were to go get a usb wall charger what would the specs of the wall charger have to be in order to get that good charge?
I hope i made sense
thanks

well i actually havent played with it unplugged from the USB, but i have unplugged to see if the battery turns it on fully, and it does with no blinking lights, just straight solid red. but when i turn it on with the battery pack inside, it blinks amber, red constantly and then just amber when the mixamp is turned off indicating its charging.
i dont know whats up with yours. i hope the best for you and support helping you.

so far I have had my brand new batteries on charge since Tuesday 10-26-09 at 1:50 pm est. They are still Blinking....... Now I am using a wall usb Charger that puts out 5 volts/1 amp. That is the mim Req for this mixamp to charge the batteries. Now I have donw study on these certain batteries and have learned that these might not be the best buy when buying the astro audio system. but the only batteries that have the setup to be charged through the mixamp. now if you know how you can prolly make a pack that works but only if your a genius. lol i am going to give the benefit of the doubt here and see how this goes but so far. if i wan to spend 20 bucks on rechargable batteries i would go with the enloops from sanyo which are the best ones on the market right now. I will get back to whom ever cares and let you know the progress. hope astro doesnt delete or ban me for honesty

well my mixamp is still charging the rechargable batteries. so far 76 hours total and going. I bought some 2300mAh NiMH I got from a shop locally where i Live, and was able to charge them in 12 hours. so i took them back to the shop and ask them about the batteries from astro and they said that something is wrong with those batteries . so when they charge fully they are going to run test on them to see whatsup

It seems better because when USB power is unplug, mixamp doesn't turn off like with the old battery.
I'll tell you more after fully loaded. I hope rapidly .... ;)
hmmm.... mine is still charging. so should i email astro support or not? ( this is when a astro mod comes in and saves the day to tell me what is best to do).........

PatFromTls, what usb hub did you use? what is the name brand and model. thanks for the help so far. I have contacted astro about the problem and seeing what i can do about this issue. it seems that they might have to change up there battery supplier. I think they are supplying bad batteries ( the supplier to astro ot astro)

Sorry Demo but i made a mistake. The last charge was finaly made with usb cable connected to an USB port on my monitor which was an Dell 2407 WFP.
I'm going to do a complete unload of the battery by putting power on the mixamp and try to recharge it for know how many time it take to charge it fully with my usb hub which is a Belkin F5U237.
I tell you after testing that.

Hi Demo,
I have made the test.
After 12 hours max of working (during working time) the battery was completly empty.
After 24 hours with connection to the usb hub (Belkin F5U237), it was fully charged again.
So try to find an usb hub with external power and loading will not take so long time, or if it does, try to change your battery.
I hope this can help you.
