So at the GameStop MW2 Tournament in SF this past weekend, Dolby was also present and had some flyers about their Dolby Axon Technology. Pretty interesting stuff.
They actually just released this info (http://www.examiner.com/x-892-PC-Game-Examiner~y2010m2d23-Dolby-releases-surround-sound-desktop-chat-client-AXON)to the press today, where it looks like their PC voice chat software is now live. It's a good read, and talks about their current idea with things, and how Axon can be used with gaming to provide Surround Sound Voice Communication in games. If you think about how the Halo3 system works, and how you can hear your enemies with proximity, it's close to that, but would work even with your teammates and enemies. If your teammate is yelling at you to help him out, because two rushers are coming from his direction, you would then be able to hear where his positioning is, and rush over to help him. Pretty neat stuff, but it's only in one or two games so far.
