Is it worth the purchase? I'm not sure how many of you are PS3 gamers, but I probably play mine more than my 360 and I was thinking of getting MAG. I've heard mixed reviews on it, but from what I've heard, if you're playing with a smart squad, then it can be a lot of fun. I guess the problem is joining a smart squad, haha.
Anybody considering getting MAG?

You'd probably want to play with a bunch of regulars, or possibly a clan of people, that way you can ensure to be part of the same squad. It's a really interesting concept for a console. I remember the PC days of the original Battlefield 1942, when they started allowing 64 players per map, which was revoluationary at the time. Made for insane LAN parties in the 90s. ;)
playstation? more like gaystation! lol. im bored never heard of MAG what is it? a FPS or RPG?

Heh. The PS3 isn't that bad. Infact, they're getting a bunch exclusives this year (Gran Turismo 5, the FF13 just for PS3, and possibly MAG, depending how people like it).
Check out IGN's review here (http://ps3.ign.com/articles/106/1065655p1.html). It's an online only FPS, that has 3 main "factions" you can join. Your character gains experiences and equipment through leveling, and each Faction apparently has different equipment. The big kicker is, the maps and servers support 256 people online in each game. It's Battlefield 1942 on crack.
FFXIII is out for 360 to :) cant wait to play that i watched a trailer or somethin on my 360 it looks awesome.

FF13 will be out for the Xbox, but there's actually 3 different "versions" being released. One on the PSP that's exclusive to that, and then an exclusive "FF13 Versus" on the PS3. Different story, different characters, but the same FF13 world.
I'm just wondering how the online capabilities of FF13 are going to be...
But we're hi-jacking this thread, lol. Let's go start a FF13 thread.

I own it and it is quite fun if you can of course, have a great squad. Have been playing my 360 a lot due to Mass Effect 2 / Bioshock 2 on the 360, and soon to be AVP tomorrow, and.. Splinter Cell.. but yeah I enjoy it. Hard to get used to, different kind of FPS for a console.
Warblade, I miss the days of 1942.. so good.. I loved the LANs I had with that game.
I still own it.. maybe we could play sometime hahaha..
But, yes.. I like MAG quite a lot. It depends on the person. I don't trust many reviewers, I think they gave it a low one? Not sure but, yeah.. it's probably due to the fact that they're like "CODCODCODCODCODCODCODCOD", if you know what I mean. It's different. I like the level up system, kind of like Talent Points in World of Warcraft.. if you've ever played it. You put points into your character that can upgrade his guns, up his health / other stats. As well as get you different kind of in game gadgets
I'd give it a 8.7 - 9.2 personally, some may disagree but yeah. :) Zipper did a good job.
So if you're looking into getting it, definitely send me a message!

Alright, man. I'll definitely let you know. I'm debating on which to get first: Bioshock 2 or MAG? If I bought Bioshock 2, it'd mainly be for the single player. Do you think it's worth the purchase for the single player mode? For instance, ME2 was definitely worth the money. The replay value is insane.

Of course! ME-2 my favorite start of the year for sure, right beside AvP.
Hmm.. I really don't know what I'd choose, since I have both(BioShock 2 or MAG). If you've tried the beta for MAG and like it, I'd suggest going that way. But, MAG doesn't have single player so.. I'd probably think that MAG would have a higher replay value due to a system kind of like Modern Warfare / World at War / Modern Warfare 2's Prestige system. It's called Veterans something, and it allows you to restart at level 1 with higher exp gain and you can either stick with the same faction or switch to another one.

Yeah, i can see that. Plus, I've been looking for a more team-oriented game besides MW2 where even objective games devolve into, "Kill, kill, kill!" So, it'll probably be MAG and then maybe Bioshock 2 or Bad Company 2...ah, man. Decisions, decisions, decisions.
By the way, what faction are you in MAG?

I've gone with Raven first time, I tried all 3 in the Beta. I like the challenge, since the other 2 factions (S.V.E.R. / Valor) are generally a better team.
Reason why Raven doesn't do as great usually is due to the little kids etc. thinking that Raven is so cool for being technologically advanced. Then they find out that everything's balanced out, they just have different looks etc.
EDIT: You may want to get BF: BC 2 before you get MAG / BioShock 2 though, I'll definitely be getting it since I already have my preorder payed off :)

Man, this first quarter I'm going to be broke. I think I'll pick up MAG first, then BC2 when it drops and probably get Bioshock 2 with Red Dead Redemption.
But I'll let you know whenever I pick it up. My A40s won't be getting here to next tuesday, so it might be then when we can play.

You've actually heard correct,. MAG is extremely fun while it can be just as frustrating if your playing with a bunch of random folks. It is one of the few games that really does require team work. As long as your team can communicate well & you have good squad or team leaders who know how to mark job objectives you can pretty much win on any faction that you are in. But if you play with people that just want to be super hero's and only worry about kills & nothing else it's gonna be a long day & a very short to quick game over if you know what I mean.
Personally I play as Raven but each faction has there plus & minus.
SVER = Best at Attacking & Worst at Defending
Valor = Good at Attacking & Defending
Raven = Best at Defending & Worst at Attacking
This is based on how they are set up, but does not mean it is the actual outcome as you can be great at either or it just depends on how well your team or clan can work together to complete the objectives that are presented to them.
If you do get the game I hope you enjoy it if not then express your opinion as well as to what you think of it good or bad. Happy Gaming.
