A40 SR3 - SELLING NOW! - Anyone Else Excited? [Archive]

I was waiting on the BXRs for so long with my eye on the Red BXRs, but then Astro announced the SR3s, with the almighty Light Blue color!

Blue is my favorite color, but the Blue BXRs were too dark for my taste. The SR3s are exactly what I was hoping to find when I discovered the BXRs, a Blue that has a similar saturation to the Red BXRs.

Production was set at 600 Lt. Blue, and 600 Purple. Limited quantity, just like the BXRs (although, I think better availability as far as numbers produced? Not sure, though).

I placed my order tonight. Has anyone else placed an order for the SR3s?

As a personal opinion, not trying to sell anything here, but I LOVE having 2 headsets.
I use one as a PC headset and one for my Xbox, it just makes my life so much easier not having to constantly switch out headsets and mixamps.

Yeah, I understand where you're coming from. I might end up doing it. That is a great perk of having 2 headsets. The Purple SR3's now and the BXR's for Christmas. :D

Really want another pair of astros my brother "borrowed" my white a40s and flat out refuses to give them back. Even told me they broke so when I asked for them back to get fixed he admitted there fine. Love the blue but I like the purple tags if only I can sell the husband on me getting another pair, and quickly

My Lt. Blue pair arrived today. They are absolutely stunning! Exactly as they appear in the picture (which is what you expect, I'm sure).

They come with the headset. So, technically, you get 5 tags when you order.

I'm sure you could try to contact Customer Support and change your order, provided the Lt. Blue are still in stock (and, to my knowledge, they are). But, you never know, you may get the purple ones and fall absolutely in love with them!

The purple are AWESOME! Just a bit darker than the picture, but not as dark as my picture looks. They just aren't pony purple, they're more royal purple.

Loving my SR3 Saints A40s ^_^

They just landed today and I had not checked this thread until after I got them so I was pleasantly surprised that they were the dark purple I was hoping for. I was actually unsure about getting them for a bit when I saw the promo images of them being a brighter purple (though a convention pic showed them to be as dark as they are).

It is a great relief, because while waiting for them, I was so unsure of my choice since I also really wanted the White A40s. Now that they've arrived, I am confident I got the right pair!

BTW, I didn't know they would also come with the Astro Speaker Tags (my A30s did not come with Astro tags since I got them at PAX). Pleasantly surprised (and now I understand the price difference even more) ^_^

I hope they work out great for Miss Olivia, I personally think this purple is very versatile and should look great on anyone. However, I totally understand Olivia's preference for the brighter purple.

The chrome is very sweet, adds a very nice touch of bling that is very suitable to Saints Row. Whether you're the kind of person who likes to pimp out a rice rocket or a whip, I imagine the chrome is perfectly suitable for you and pretty much everyone else (sorry if I mangled the language, I'm not a car tuner myself).

Also, I LOVE the new packaging. Well most of it. I do like the images on the side of the box (that kind of resemble ear pieces) but honestly not as much as the rest of the packaging. But the overall packaging is Astro-Wonderful and follows the direction of the Mixamp 5.8 Packaging.

Awesome job on this one Astro! The SR3 Saints A40 is better than I was expecting and everything I hoped for!

wow my astros just arrived and I'm kinda disappointed in the way the purple ones look.. more of a dark royal blueish purple instead of a cute purply look-feel. wish they looked like the ones in the picture.

Thanks for posting the pictures, and I'm sorry to read you're disappointed in the color. Hopefully, with time, it will grow on you!

I got my 1st pair of Astro A40s yesterday and after i went into afew chat rooms with my friends they was blown away by the sound quatily of the A40s,they said it sounded like in was next to them. The SR3 LT. Blue are nice and was blown away that i got 5 speark tags altogher and something alot of people dont say about the A40 is you have 2 mics,i tested them out on my friends and the boom mic isnt as loud as the wired mic. Last thing if you but the wireless set you better buy the the rechargeable battery pack, i used up 6 aaa in 4 hours

I'm going to go out on a limb and say no. I don't have them but since they've been out of stock for the longest time I don't think they'll be included.

I wish they had duty free shipping in Canada again. I was just about to pull the trigger on purchasing a blue SR3 edition but it brings the price from 210$ all the way to 260$. Kinda lame how expensive the shipping is. Albeit it does arrive in 2-3 business days I still think forcing customers to pay premium price for shipping is lame.

There still is stock of the SR3 editions (both Purple and Lt. Blue) available, but we're waiting on the speaker tags for the sets to be shipped to our warehouse. Should be very soon!

But yes, once the 600 of each color are gone, that's it!

i love the saints row series!!!!! its like my all time favorite game. im getting SR3 today and was using the SR3 initiation station and saw the in-game astro a40 headset haha, decided to check out astro website to see if they made anything new and HOLY CRAP!!!!!! saw these new SR3 themed headsets!! so awesome! i love the blue, its my favorite color! and i cant wait till i get em! and the skull tags for em are awesome. im so glad they are still in stock . i just ordered lt blue ! :)

first off to the astro gaming staff thanks for providing excellent products =D i loved my a40's to death before they got stolen. gaming hasn't been the same. like mpalm said in the post above me, i ordered the sr3 edition on the 13th, and the order still says pending shipment. With express saver shipping when do you think i can expect my headphones :D?

Check page 4 of this thread. The lighting is pretty bad in the pictures, but those are the purple ones posted by latro. Very dark purple, as you can see. Hopefully someone else can post some additional pictures with better lighting (I would, but I have the Lt. Blue pair XD).

So.... Heres the deal. im getting ready to order a pair of Light Blues SR3's IF someone would be interested in trading the speaker tags with me :) im not really a saints row fan, but i do really like the blue

I did the same thing. I actually bought it for my brother, he doesn't know I ordered them. I know he likes the light blue SR3 because he ordered the Blue BXR for me and commented on why I didn't get the SR3 Light Blue instead since it was "the hottest color they have".

I have a friend who is designing some custom tags for us since we're not super big SR fans.
